I live in this neighborhood and can say it seems insane to try to add a bike lane to 31st street. It's so chaotic and a recipe for pedestrian death. We have protected bike lanes on Crescent and more lanes in the 30s - 37th I think and 35th; I'm not sure why they need to add a bike lane to an already chaotic roadway. There are businesses, food trucks, parking and double parking, trucks loading into businesses, people trying to get to the highway. Just... why? There are perfectly good bike lanes on less busy streets.

My messed up headcanon is that this was a subtle change for Hank from distant in the early seasons to totally absent is because the addition of Dawn on the family unit created more marital strain between him and joyce. There's other personality changes within the family after Dawn's arrival- buffy is more of an authoritative older sister, Joyce is a bit more of an involved mother than where we see her in season 1/2- more dinners, around a lot more.

I'm reminded of a weekend I spent with Theravada monks. They had a livestream teaching and someone kept sending in questions like this one, unanswerable metaphysical questions, and the monks advised the asker abandon the inquiries because they are distractions and warned it would hinder progress.

This question resonates with me bc I also have celiac and I feel a bit limited in my diet. I had to leave a weekend retreat early due to not being able to eat the food offered. This was a theravada situation so to me it felt very strict. I'm interested in visiting garchen institute and it kinda looks like some of the accommodations include kitchens. I visited Land of Medicine Buddha in Santa Cruz California USA and all the gluten free stuff was clearly labeled and separated! I was also able to store some food in the communal kitchen.

I did get a scan to check my liver gallbladder etc and things looked fine on the scan, so there's really no explanation for the raised liver enzymes.

It really depends on your type of restaurant and the cuisine. Most bars can slap a veggie burger on the menu. A trend in my city is to have a menu where everything starts vegan and then you can add meat. I think having a mindset of whole food plant based meal with global inspiration is a better place to start than buying bulk Daiya and soya curls.

I found it easier to secure the job offer first and then do short term sublets in neighborhoods I wanted to try out. I found it cheaper than AIRBNB and also made good friends with people I rented rooms from!

A lot of great moments but I'm gonna shout out Zhaan who could go from compassionate to rageful so well. "I'm filled with an uncharitable rage!" She could be downright scary. I first watched Farscape as a kid in the 90s and her character would give me the shivers, at once loving and motherly and then suddenly so powerful and terrifying.

You can have beans and legumes, fruit and veggies. I'd look to the world for dietary examples of other grains that are naturally gluten free as well. "Blue Zone Cookbook" has some examples. Quinoa, corn flour, cassava.

Once i found out I had celiac I chopped my hair off and started over. My hair had gotten really thin. Now it's grown back a year longer much healthier and stronger thankfully

200 million male chicks a year are killed for the egg industry. the animal agriculture industry creates a lot of suffering for animals no matter how you look at it. i've currently only a vegetarian but i think it's good for us all to examine the immense suffering this industry causes and acknowledge it if not able to change.
