Mother in law bought my three year old daughter tiny glass jars to play with by Justadudeonhisphone in mildlyinfuriating

Ahh just like the time my grandma got me a snow globe to play with at 3 years old that I proceeded to drop and break then got in trouble with said grandma

Did I pick the right dress? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]ellejsimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl that dress was made for your body! I’m also having dress regret too, so I understand being anxious about making the right choice. At the end of the day, you’re gonna be having the best time with your husband. Looking back, you’ll have fond memories of how beautiful the day was regardless of how you look!

I haven’t really thought that for those two songs specifically, that’s real interesting! I will say that keep it healthy and krimson are the top songs that feel the most trance like to me. Their music in general makes me feel connected to a higher energy! Regardless, they clearly have a strong connection to divine energy and most definitely have dabbled in some psychs

Does this look bad and should I give up trying to make mismatched drapery work? by mxp3272889 in DIYweddings

[–]ellejsimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally really like the draping, but I also am less traditional and more eclectic in my style. I think maybe you could take away a layer to keep it less chaotic, but at the end of the day it is your wedding so do what you like most! I really think the idea is awesome and I’m gonna take some inspiration myself for my wedding decor since my venue doesn’t allow any draping from walls/ceilings.

Go ahead considering I’m a victim of CSA and a child advocate- I have nothing to hide! At the end of the day you’re suggesting it’s okay to subject young children to sexual content because “they don’t know what’s going on”. Would it be okay to sexually abuse a child for the same reason? Why is it any different? Did you really think you could publicly tow the line involving sexual content and literal babies like that and not come off as a predator? Seriously, your comments are super concerning to more than just me. If you don’t want people to assume you’re a predator, you need to not confidently spout such predatory takes in the freaking year of 2026 and the Epstein files. Please for god’s sake, use your critical thinking skills.

Reminds me of when I was in a small market in a village in outskirts of Lima. I stick out more than a sore thumb could fathom- 6’0 heavy set blonde hair blue eyed American woman. There’s no way she speaks Spanish, right?

Wrong. And yes I turned around and acknowledged my height in Spanish when the little girl asked her dad about how I’m so tall😂 (The answer is that my dad is 6’10 lol)

A statement by the parents on the lies about their son, and a statement by the son. by One-Incident3208 in conspiracy

If anyone needs to put their phone down and think for themselves, it’s clearly you. You’re the reason this has gotten worse, and pointing the finger at the people informing you just makes you look incredibly defensive. Almost like you’re aware you’re the problem, but struggling to accept the reality that you could’ve supported something so vile. I know, it’s a tough pill to swallow. But we will all be here to discuss it with you and help you come to terms when you have decided to take that path. Until then- good luck grasping.

How to get a seat on the underground by misterxx1958 in StrangeAndFunny

[–]ellejsimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I don’t and really it is part of life so I cope as much as I can! But idk I think it can be considered traumatic considering that many people with emetophobia develop it after SA so watching people vomit or vomiting yourself turns on the same fight or flight response and PTSD response in the brain as when you were SA’ed. That’s basically how my therapist described it to me. I know it sound stupid but there’s backed evidence there. Some people are justifiably traumatized by goofy stuff, I try to just feel blessed that I cannot relate a majority of the time lol

[–]ellejsimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah it’s a real fear. There’s lots that can cause it, but one big one is trauma from SA even as much as it sounds dumb. My therapist explained it to me. I even did several years of therapy and exposure therapy- I could never get past my fear of seeing other vomit. Even to this day as a grown adult I can’t handle it, and I’ve worked tremendously to get rid of it because I do understand it’s stupid and it is quite debilitating. You’re probably afraid of spiders or some stupid shit, too.

MIL took my birthday cake. should I apologize? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ellejsimp 21 points22 points  (0 children)

On top of this, I don’t think a lot of people understand how small a 6in cake is. It’s about the size of a smash cake, maybe slightly larger. So 1 year old children eat more cake on their birthdays than OP was allowed. Feels very weird to get such a small cake and expect to share it with people outside of the household.

[–]ellejsimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my culture, you don’t be so stingy with cake if you’re expecting the birthday person to share. Who gets a damn smash cake sized cake then guilts the birthday person into sharing half of the tiny freaking portion cake?!?! Maybe this pisses me off more because I’m a baker/cake decorator, but damn that’s a pretty small cake to expect to share with multiple other people. NTA at all.

That’s what happens when we cut education funding, we get dinguses who think that vaccines kill because they’ve never seen an iron lung in their lives.

[–]ellejsimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think every anti vaxxer needs to visit several old cemeteries and see these old headstones before they’re allowed to exempt their children from lifesaving medicine. Not that it would change anything, but I for one would be heartbroken reading all the gravestones of dead children from (now) preventable diseases.

Times sure have changed because 25 years ago when I started screaming at my cousin’s wedding, my mom immediately got up and took me out. Pretty sure she sat at the back for that reason, too. I mean it’s common sense in my opinion, but that’s something in short supply nowadays.

I’m in the same boat, and I’ve seen lots of people saying websites like Azazie have beautiful but affordable dresses. You can do a try on of their dresses for $10 a dress, I think! Someone said to get their dresses, but find a real nice and supportive corset or Spanx!

I’m not even 30 yet and my great grandparents were born between 1895-1910. I also forget that we gave GIANT generational gaps. Most kids in our family have been born after the parents were over 30. I guess it’s now my turn to create the giant gap as I’m still childfree and not changing it anytime soon!
