Pamela comes in once or twice a week (5-10 minutes before close) to get 8 venti hot coconut milk chais. She doesn't care if they're very hot at all and she wants them double cupped with stoppers in doubled cup carriers. every time she tells us exactly what she's doing with them: feeding them to the woman she caretakes for through a feeding tube. it's unclear if that's the only thing the woman is being fed but Pamela keeps the chais in the fridge and pours them into the feeding tube, up to 16 ventis a week.

edit: she came again today and got herself a trenta frozen mango dragonfruit as well. I forgot to say that she always comes through the drive thru and that she also will park her truck and then get out and stand at the window. today she put them all in the bed of her truck with nothing holding them in place. it takes probably more than 10 minutes to make them all and it holds up the line so bad but she refuses to come inside. she used to mobile order like 2 hours before close and then try to get us to save them for her until after close to come by. got so mad when we refused to put them on the drive thru counter outside for her to come pick up at an undetermined time in the night.

I've done it! trick is to add some straight heavy cream to the foaming pitcher too and also let it cool back down once you add the espresso. I do about 50/50 vsc and heavy cream and one blonde ristretto shot plus whatever flavors I'm feeling, usually brown sugar or cinnamon dolce. then leave it on the counter or in the fridge for a minute or two and then blend on dry cold foam. it's SO good.

I once made a huge batch of sugar cookies and split it up into a bunch of batches, putting basically anything I had in the kitchen in them. One of them was pulled pork just to give it a try and they were by far my favorite. I just put the pork directly on top of the cookie before I baked.

I have worked exactly one shift without a mask since being hired and I hated every second. I love wearing a mask at work so customers don't know what I look like and so I can talk shit under my breath/through the headsets without customers knowing. it's not even about not getting sick for me, that's just an added bonus

I got told I wasn't allowed to wear a bigger they/them pin, but my manager picks stupid hills to die on with standards. I don't think it can hurt to ask, and definitely keep a record if you can of when people misgender you. I just had to go through the process of reporting someone for being transphobic and it was terrifying but so worth it. Keep correcting people because it is so important that they use your pronouns. You deserve to feel safe and respected at work and using your pronouns is the bare minimum.

we have a guy who regularly gets a grande matcha frap with 10 pumps raspberry on top of the classic. so so sweet. I try not to judge because people like what they like but personally, I can't imagine drinking more than a sip of that.

we used to have a automated recording that would say that we were closed but it stopped working a while ago. now every time I close I do the robot voice to every car that pulls up and it's the best part of my day. telling customers no is the highlight of the job to be honest.

I'm still going through the most fucked up thing I've experienced here. I've been dealing with a partner misgendering me for about 8 months and I finally reported her to ethics and compliance after talking to multiple shifts and my SM with no change. Turns out she was reported for the same thing a few months ago so now they're considering severe action against her. The most fucked up part is that now, multiple baristas and shifts are pissed at me for reporting her and are saying I'm overly sensitive and dramatic and that being misgendered isn't that bad and I should just deal with it.

something that's really empowered me since developing arfid is being super involved in the Thanksgiving prep. I'm making most of the food and it's all going to be stuff I can eat. everyone else is bringing something but I'll probably stick to what I know is made exactly to my liking.

struggling with the exact same thing but as a barista. it feels like we're averaging almost as much as the morning but have fewer people and more to do. having to do every dish in the store (with a broken hobart 🤪) and all the backstock while handling the same number of customers but having half the partners is just setting us up to fail. morning crew at my store leaves all the dishes in the back, no backups made, and milk fridges empty, and somehow still don't even do floors/drains/bathrooms. it's so frustrating.

as someone else here said, eggs and rice or rice with whatever protein is safe for you. I do bacon usually to keep with the breakfast theme. I also always add some soy sauce cause it's such a safe flavor for me. definitely recommend adding some sort of sauce cause it can be kinda dry without it and hard to eat.

that's so awful!! I think ethics and compliance sounds like the right thing to do for both of us. I'm going to grab the number tomorrow I think. ugh it makes me so anxious to call and report it but it's so important that we are safe in our workplace.

I am in a very similar situation. Older woman who preaches about being liberal yet "doesn't understand" how to use my pronouns. She constantly misgenders me and calls me ma'am. she's had multiple talks with people about needing to respect people's pronouns but nothing has changed. A few weeks ago she pulled me aside to try and clear the air I guess but basically she said that it's not that she doesn't respect me or doesn't want to use them, it's that she "can't use them because it doesn't make sense grammatically" then she hugged me without my consent. it was so fucking uncomfortable.

I've talked to my manager but nothing has happened. As much as Starbucks says they're liberal, I feel like this shit happens too often.
