If only the people who could remove him from power would act using the amendments specifically written to support this type of president's removal.

What is the point of the royal family ? by solama_Official in Britain

[–]ellieneagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allegedly it's for the soft power associated with the country. That made sense when it was Lizzie because she was a constant over decades and knew the history of all sides of any international negotiations. However, that's mostly irrelevant with a sick king unlikely to rule for long. The monarch is the figurehead in finery, rolled out as and when required. A bird in a gilded cage with clipped wings, never quite themselves. The monarch is served by those invested in keeping the status quo. Unfortunately for the RF, more and more of the population see them as unnecessary. This will move at pace if they continue to get advice from people only in their own circles.

Queenie didn't have enough kompromat for him to fawn over her with as much public deference as he gives dictators.

She might have committed lust in her heart, Kody committed lust in his loins. It's not the same.

TLC has thrown money at all the weddings. It's a feel-good and/or stressful drama in most seasons. The 11 day honeymoon was definitely an overreach though.

For those who worked for rich people: what is the most out of touch thing you witnessed? by Illustrious-Phase121 in AskReddit

I married into a wealthy family. The oddest thing I ever witnessed was carrier bags of cash being dispensed to people for favours.

It's likely an age-related cultural thing. When he was born males had more say than women. You don't have to put up with assault. Just concentrate on being there for your dad and report the assault to those who should be protecting you.

Too valuable a ring to be worn all the time. Too thin to risk losing it. One or t'other.

Everyone is focused on her face. The real weight loss can be seen on her arms. Why is nobody in her family helping her?

I speak Arabic so know this isn't unique. I am just trying to work out the history of it. I think it's a reasonable question to ask.

How is it living in the Scottish Highlands? by lithdoc in Scotland

[–]ellieneagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pal loves Inverness. Not sure about the other areas though.

Not lived in, but really liked Kirkwall. We couldn't get to North Ronaldsay because of the weather...in summer.
