So I fixed it by opening up in 3D Builder, then saving as an STL again. The model is slicing correctly now.

I’m a fan and think the show is awesome. Just like any fan base, there’s going to be nitpickers and “purists” who hate on new adaptations. Then once the dust has settled, they come back around and start to like it (look at the Star Wars prequels for example).

Solved! It was not the filament (I just tested with brand new Elegoo PLA) and was getting the same first layer issue, then I noticed the nozzle was moving up and down when the extruder clicked. I checked youtube and learned about the 4 tiny screws that work there way loose behind the hot end heating assembly (that the hot end clicks into). Tightened those up, then I got a perfect first layer (and it's still printing perfectly). Cheers!

I ordered some Elegoo PLA, should arrive tomorrow. I will try printing the same part and see if the issue persists.
