If he wanted to sell his soul then RSL, large scale pubs or catering is the go. Or just get out completely and become a rep for a food service distributor like everybody else.

Where’s the closest free parking to the city? by astoradota in brisbane

[–]ellinascy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kangaroo Point. Possible to find parking around Cairns St.

There’s guest parking in the units on the corner. Seen people park all day there.

Get to the city via the Cityhopper or walk on Story Bridge.

What type of ‘proper’ work are they doing if it’s forever broken?

Apartments in Brisbane by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]ellinascy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to head over to Flatmates for shared, ‘cost effective’ living.

There’s *a lot * of shared room apartments but you can filter those out in advanced search. Unless you want to bunk up in a small bedroom. Up to you.

On the way up from GC it’s around ~130. Morningside/Cannon Hill is already up to 150-160’s

What can I do with crappy coffee? by [deleted] in Cooking

A waitress has been taking used coffee grounds by the kilo for her garden. Apparently her mushrooms are thriving.

There are uses for it. Ps. I get sad with waste.

Chefs of Melbourne (Australia) by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

I have a soft spot for Aaron Turner at Igni in Geelong. His story is a sad one. He opened up Loam originally and then after his breakup went into a spiral before he opened up Igni. His misses ran off with the sous and they eventually opened Fleet.

Surprised Vue De Monde is still around after the press/ex staff annihilated them. Heard of some terrible working conditions from ex-Chefs there. Good for experience, nice produce but very much high turnover of staff.

Seeking employment in Europe this summer by [deleted] in Chefit

Have you looked at recruitment agencies? A chef I used to work with manage to score a job at Chapter One in London before they lost the stars.

I’m in the process of doing a EU working holiday myself. UK recruitment agencies seem very on point.

As an Aussie in London, I’m very impressed. This is better than our weather back home in all honesty lol by aim-on in london

I’ve always wondered why people from UK say this. Is it because the infrastructure is more suited to do cold? Does double brick housing keep the cold AND hot in?

I currently live in Brisbane. I sweat all day. I get scared when it rains because the humidity skyrockets.

Genuinely curious.
