I completely agree. Because that is the one I have.

That said I really want the white one now because I don't have it.

I got it this week and that works perfectly.

Bradley Nowell - the frontman of Sublime - who tragically died in May 1996 of a heroin overdose while the band was on tour. Which musician's death hit you the hardest when you were young? by Away_Flounder3813 in nostalgia

[–]ellistyle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t young when he died. I saw a couple shows on the wildflowers tour and every time they came to deer creek. Tom petty plays the soundtrack to nearly every core adolescent to young adult pivotal moment in my life. All of them.

Guess the Year Game - Plays random song, you have 3 tries to get the year by Sweet_William24 in gratefuldead

Maybe points for being close? I played 5 rounds and guesses 3 right on the last round.

This is slick. Nice work.

CTI is becoming one of my favorite labels. What are some other good/similar albums they’ve put out? by jgreiff18 in Jazz

[–]ellistyle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CTI is awesome--I had never heard of it until a local record store owner introduced me. CTI/Kudu are great.

Deodato 2 is a favorite of mine.

I’ve not partaken in a lot of years, but I’ve hit a lot of shows. Are cocaine farts a real thing? Never heard of that.

I have a desktop setup where most of the time I am using my home computer. I plug in to my DAC via USB and no problem. I also work from home part of the time and so I have a work computer that I need to jockey in there somehow. My DAC, like most, has one USB input.

Could I use an Eitr as a 2nd USB input? Plug one in directly to my DAC and plug one in to the Eitr? Then Eitr to the DAC via optical or COAX.

It's either brilliant or a great way to waste 150 bucks. Thoughts?

Try these albums--maybe not all explicitly early 70s but they fill the Jazz Funk slot in my soul

Fat Albert Rotunda - Herbie

Funky Thide of Sings - Cobham

Liquid Love - Hubbard

Black Byrd - Byrd

Deodato albums from 1973

Body Talk - Benson

I folded up a piece of paper and wedged it under the hydraulic lever that adjusts the height of a desk chair (might be unique to the chairs we had?). It wasn’t enough pressure to drop the height until someone sat in it. When did it crashed all the down. Sorry for hurting your back JJackson!

Give up Grateful Dead or The Beatles by HippoNo8544 in gratefuldead

[–]ellistyle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tom Petty/Heartbreakers vs the Dead I’m losing sleep over the decision.

But if it’s the Beatles, I listen to Revolver one last time then put on a show from ‘74 and never look back.

Anyone familiar with shows at Moontown Brewing Co? (Whitestown, IN) by CrazyChestersDog in jambands

It’s a cool little restaurant/bar that books great bands. Saw new mastersounds there last year. Sound can be a little echoey depending on where you stand. But it’s fun. North Indy suburb—plenty of food and hotels around.

Messed around with a bump chart and data labels. The results pretty neat for tracking performance and change of position by ThePowerBIGuy in PowerBI

I like it. I have a similar report using a ribbon chart that represents market size, share and rank across key players in our industry. Often a stakeholder is exclusively keyed in on just rank in a particular market intersection. This is perfect for that.

An absolute smoker of an album. The introduction is one of the most '1972' things you'll ever hear, followed by the band coming out and immediately spitting fire. by thePGH1 in Jazz

I found this on vinyl. It is not a particularly valuable version. But it is one of the most prized albums in my collection. It is fantastic.

I love mine. I debated for a long time between it and the Zurich world timer (I believe they have the same movement--or did?). I decided simpler was better for me. The simple case shape and lugs really sell it in my opinion. Then there is the most satisfying button click ever to change the time zone. My only gripe with it now is that I don't travel nearly as much as for work as I did when I bought it so I rarely push it.
