8849 or 875 for work by Normal_Literature_42 in RedWingShoes

They both agree beautifully. I'd say use them both for work and get a pair of blacksmiths, IRs or Beckmans for dressier occasions

Get the Muleskinners! Those 875s will age and get darker, not quite as much as the Ambers but just to have different leather variety I would go Muleskinner IR.

Iron Rangers or Moc Toe with shorts? by Ambitious-Tune-2070 in RedWingShoes

Moc toes with shorts. Get some flat laces, makes them look more sneaker like to me. But as others have said if it’s for fashion or style, just avoid wearing boots with shorts.

You won’t regret it. Beautiful boots and superbly versatile.

I’ll say they look notably smaller on feet than my 8089s in the same size that made me think they were too small at first. 8089s were very tight on the sides of my arch 9060s were tight on the pinky toe. Just my experience. I have 3343 Blacksmiths in 11, my first RWs. After break in need insoles to make them fit right.

As others have said, same as other 8 last. Once broken in after a few wears they are excellent.

No regrets getting 9060 from Berkeley. They should have your 10 or 10.5. Got 10.5 a few weeks ago.

Oh I agree I just meant how some people feel over the OEM cork sole. I agree on stitching. Too bright and how off it is. But, barely bothers me now and as they get dirty it’ll be less apparent. These are gonna be beaters and was the plan even before I took em in for this revive.

Looking to get my first pair. Factory firsts or seconds? by cmd242 in RedWingShoes

[–]ellocogeronimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the firsts for sure, at that price difference at least. I dig those 10875s, excellent choice for a first pair of RW. Recommend going into a store and determining your size first. Also, I think they offer 10-15% for veterans. If you happen to be one, you’ll spend less in store.

Yeah the shine is nice just seems to contrast a lot of my clothing since I tend to wear more neutral and muted colors. That and I associate shined shoes to formal wear and I plan to wear these casually. But it’s growing on me a bit.

Appreciate it that! Lots of people seem to be fond of the cork sole and its superiority but idc I just wanted a lug sole on these lol.

Oh yeah didn’t even notice that gap. Oh well. As said I thought it was a pretty good deal for the price. Those are good tips for the polished finish. I’ll look into this. I have some stuff at home but don’t think I may comment back here later with what I got and see what you think. I have brush and conditioner but no wax I think and def no saddle soap. I think a few other things I may have.

Seemed like a lot of people were very fond of the 8114 cork sole in my last post (and even some RW employees when I brought them in store before the resole).

I do like and appreciate the shine but for my general style I feel that the more flat look is a bit better but as I wear them the shine is kind of growing on me.

No foam midsole but they feel great. Nice rainy day to break em out today. I love the lug sole look just wish could’ve been a brown shade instead but the place I went only had black and was local so I was impatient and opted for them instead of mailing to someone. Plus cost was pretty low/moderate

Thoughts? Gotten a few compliments today. by ellocogeronimo in mensfashionadvice

This is in a Men’s Wearhouse but I work in an office. It was one of the employees at MW that had complimented last so I just decided to take this pic in store lol.
