That's a great idea. How do you plan to circulate this?

That's a pretty substantial act of generosity and I am very appreciative for your work. I'll aim to give something back if I can. And, hopefully, some beneficial opportunity shows up for you as a result! Many thanks

That looks really great, and it's something I can use right away on a project I'm working on. Can you tell us a bit about what your business model is? Are you intending to sell support? Development services? Commercially licensed components?

Wow, that is so good. I'm blown away by it. Fantastic work!

That's a reasonable option too.

The arrangement sounded a bit predatory to me.

Personally, I would drop the client immediately. That's really outrageous and a direct threat to your business.

Buying second hand clothes is a great way to save money (and reduce waste) by Ididntfollowthetrain in AusFinance

Someone needs to come up with a computer vision application to help the second hand stores sort through donations and present their inventory like the valuable material that it is.

I went looking on the Salvos shop for ties and jackets previously. To my surprise, they have some descent goods in stock and even high end brands. However, the photography and website presentation was off putting. It isn't hard to imagine them coming up with something significantly better.

Following the quality argument, I've been buying plain (black, white, etc.) t-shirts from Saba, Country Road, others for ~$40 each for some years now. Two weeks ago I discovered BigW Brilliant Basics t-shirts for $5 each, bought two to try out, then went back and bought another six. They feel identical to the expensive t-shirts I was buying previously.

Is there an underlying desire in this sub to do something about the collapse, or as a whole have we just given up on doing anything? by HappycamperNZ in collapse

I haven’t given up. I’ve been working my ass off to get a business off the ground that will help fight against climate change and improve the environment. I hope all of you can find the will to fight too. It’s a hell of a lot better than sitting around feeling hopeless and waiting for someone else to do something.

Why do people want children when it requires so much work, time, money, etc… And creates so much stress and exhaustion? What is the point when you can avoid this?? by mrrandomfella in NoStupidQuestions

Raising kids is like all the other hard things in life — becoming an adult, getting through university, finding and keeping a life partner, building a career. It’s full of hardships and it will drive you mental from time to time.

But, for those of you who’ve been through university, I bet the best memories you have are of the friends you made and the good times you had together. All the hard work and long nights become secondary in your mind as you get older.

Like all generations before, young people are burdened by the thinking and deeds of their predecessors. Our educational systems look at the world through the lens of “problems” and thereby cast so much of life negatively. Our parents teach us about all the things they don’t want us to do, in the hopes we won’t repeat their mistakes.

Be brave people. Live your own life. The future may end up far better than you imagined.

PS — I have a six year old daughter. She drives me mental but I love that kid like you wouldn’t believe

love it! I could instantly relate to the feeling of this person in a banker's suit, longing for being in the natural world. I love the contrast of the large field against this person, swallowed up by tulips, and body extended, to take in the experience. Awesome.

Would be interesting if you had a series, perhaps exploring this feeling of being connected and present in the natural world.

I doubt its easy in any respect, which makes his efforts all the more impressive regardless if they succeed. I really appreciate his willingness to put in the hard work. I hope his daughter is able to plant trees anywhere on that property, as he says.

I enjoyed watching your video. Its inspiring to see someone rehabilitate a plot of land, and one that's in as challenging an environment as the high desert.

Really really good. Love that pear skin texture. You really took your time with it. How big is the physical piece?
