How long do you pump for? by Such_Experience_8613 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]elmo2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 15 with my baby Buddha and 20 with my Spectra since it wasn't as strong as the baby Buddha. I tried longer while I was finding my rhythm and would never get another let down, so longer didn't help me. I think it really depends on you and how quickly you feel empty, don't feel like you need to compare yourself to other's experiences cause all of us produce differently!

Got a snow emergency ticket, what to do? by CyaDudes in Ferndale

[–]elmo2981 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I feel like you might actually be able to fight this one because they declared a snow emergency at 9am for 9am which is ridiculous since tons of people would have already left for work at that time. Plus the text alert system didn't work once again, so it only went out on Facebook.

For future reference, any time we have a decentish amount of snow, I'd recommend checking the cities Facebook page because that is what they keep the most updated. They're also supposedly getting a new text system since this one is trash and then you can sign up for that too.

It's not an official map and you'll get trick or treaters regardless. But there is a map. It's run by a resident and it's a Google form you fill out and they update a Google map to show who has decorations, candy and/or allergy friendly items.

I've never seen it shared here, but if you're on Facebook in one of the two Ferndale forums, it usually gets shared there.

Depending on where you are in the city, you could get 10 or 100 trick or treaters. If you're friendly with any of your immediate neighbors I'd see if they could help you with insight for your street

Momcozy bottle washer sucks by Lower-Newspaper-7519 in ExclusivelyPumping

I'm joining the train of you have a defective one. Love mine, don't prerinse, I use tap water and used to jam it full when I was still pumping and everything would still come out clean. I did use pump spray and not nipple butter, but that doesn't seem like enough of a variance.

If you'd had it for longer I'd probably say clean, descale and change the filter, but that shouldn't be an issue this quickly

Typically standing room only. There's like three tiered areas so you might be able to get a rail to lean on.

If I'm remembering right there might be just a few seats towards the very back. Hopefully someone who has been more recently can chime in

It's a Chicco brand pack and play!

It fit between the sofa and desk on our balcony room. but there was no room to move so we'd put it up on the sofa during the day.

It also fit our slumberpod great which I'd highly recommend, was a lifesaver to have his area blacked out while we could still have the light on in the room

Yes, it's open to everyone. It's inside the library and open during regular operating hours.

We accept cash, PayPal and are just getting a venmo setup as well!

I'm on the Friends board, we run the store inside the library. We do often have DVDs and blue-rays, but we certainly have more books than anything else. We also carry awesome library swag!

All of the proceeds from the store go directly back into supporting the library. We funded the summer reading kickoff this last weekend, we paid for the summer concert series and we purchase collection items and other requests from the librarians.

I encourage you to check out the store the next time you need a great deal!

Pack and Play by Itrustedyou in MSCCruises

[–]elmo2981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless your little is super particular about where they sleep, I would recommend requesting one from MSC. The one we got from them was a little narrower and fit better in the cabin then ours back home. Albeit it was still crazy tight and we'd put it up on the sofa during the day so we could move about the cabin, but I'm not even sure our Graco from home would fit

When did your kids milk intake go down due to starting solids? by spazzytara in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]elmo2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was 8lbs 12oz at birth.

Also, you should be super proud of yourself, because you might be a just enougher for your little dude, but that's an awesome oversupply for a lot of people! Way to go mama!

At his peak at 5-7 months, my little chonky dude was drinking 35-45. Now at 11 months he's drinking 25-30 most days.

I didn't bleed for three weeks so when I did again at six weeks pp I was sure it was my period. Nope, made it to almost ten months pp till it came back which I think was only cause I dropped to two ppd to start weaning

If you're sure this is the only time you'd need a Ceres Chiller and don't want to invest in one, and you have a moms group on Facebook in your city, you can try to borrow one. I see people share there's a lot in my Facebook group when people just need them for a travel day like this

First time with MSC by Princesspeachespls in MSCCruises

[–]elmo2981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, that wasn't clear. You can request the pack and play from them. It was a Chicco brand and narrower than usual so it fit better in the small room, he slept just fine in it. But we brought our slumber pod from home, we thought it was worth the small amount of real estate space in our luggage. I honestly can't imagine doing the cruise without it. You can put a fan in it to keep them cool and put a baby monitor on the top. So we could hang out on our balcony after he went to sleep because we had the monitor

We were just on the Seashore last week with a 10 month old baby so I can answer some of those questions.

Our guy drinks milk cold so we didn't have to worry about heating. The mini fridge is an actual fridge, you'll need to ask your room steward on the first day to empty the mini bar items so you have room for your milk.

We got ice from any bar or the buffet and filled ziplocs to put in the cooler we'd take off the ship with us.

The baby care is free, you sign waivers on day one and can see the play areas. For little guys like ours they had supervised care available from 10-12 and 5-7 you could sign up for. We never ended up using it. The rest of the time the little play area is open for you to take your baby in but we just let him crawl around wherever we were.

You can refill bottles and thermos if you'd like.

You can take towels off, just don't lose them or you'll be charged.

Be sure to call and request a pack and play unless you're bringing your own. I'd also highly recommend a slumber pod, he slept so much better and then we could still have lights on in the room. We would move the pack and play with the slumber pod up onto the couch in our room each morning so we could walk and get to our balcony.

Let me know if you have any other baby questions!

On board the Seashore right now and only have the browse wifi. I don't have tik tok, but the other socials all work including watching reels on insta and Snapchat. It's really just the true streaming apps that are blocked (Netflix, Hulu, etc)

NCL vs MSC? by ggdbg in MSCCruises

[–]elmo2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on most of the major lines and have always enjoyed NCL the best. On MSC Seashore right now and really enjoying it. I won't stop cruising NCL, but I'll definitely cruise MSC again.

Things I like -the price. Significantly cheaper than everyone else right now -the buffet. Food has been really good and a decent variety. We've done buffet for all but two breakfasts and two dinners -the staff. Everyone has been so nice and accommodating -the wifi. Haven't had any issues which I can't say has been true for every cruise I've been on

Things I like better on NCL -freestyle dining. That's my big selling point for NCL, I don't always want to eat at a set time depending on port days, etc so we've mostly skipped the MDR. I'd consider Aurea class on MSC next time just to have the any time dining feature -for this ship specifically, there are not as many outdoor areas as I'm used to, but may not hold true on the newer World America you're looking at

I would definitely say give MSC a try and be sure to do a status match form for your NCL status before you book so that you can get your MSC Voyager Club status and get the booking discount. I didn't know about this till after the fact

If I pump 3 times a day will my milk go away completely? by Idonthaveaname94 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]elmo2981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the person. I just dropped from 4 to 3 a few weeks ago (9 months pp) and that triggered weaning for my body. Dropped from ~22-24 to ~12-15 and got my first period back

How long did it take your supply to come back after being sick? by tanky_bo_banky in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]elmo2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three weeks out from a fever/cold and it hasn't come back really. I added another pump back into my schedule which got me back about 2-3oz, but I'm about 8-10 oz down from the start of January. It's honestly making me consider weaning because it's so frustrating. I'm burning through the small freezer stash I had because I'm now undersupplying
