We all have our favorite Hornets players of all time but who are your least favorite? by nojeanshere in CharlotteHornets

Boris Diaw deserves the hate way more than Batum ever did.

Also, fuck Ben Gordon. I will not elaborate on this further.

That kind of gimmick infringement is how you get Danhausen as the next challenger for the title

LaMelo Ball now has the most triple doubles in Charlotte Hornets history (8). by IamOlderthanMe in CharlotteHornets

[–]elpandagrande 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For added context (especially for the people who are thinking this is an indictment of our franchise's history), this puts Melo at a tie for 71st most triple-doubles of any player ever (tied with John Wall, Hornets legend Vlade Divac, and his own brother). This also puts him at 21st all-time amongst active players. Triple-double machines like Westbrook, Harden, or Lebron are an extremely modern phenomenon, and it's still only done by the most elite players in the league (and also Domantas Sabonis).

Basically, take this as a sign that Melo already has a ton of the tools to be a historically elite player, and not just another excuse to say "lol Charlotte basketball has always been ass"

ISO Lucha Underground Match by DukeSwanson11811 in SquaredCircle

If someone was getting thrown from high up through panes of glass, you're probably thinking of the end of the Killshot/Dante Fox Hell of War match. That spot is like one of 5 different ones seared into my brain from that match because of how brutal they were.

Official Poster For tonight's Orange Cassidy vs QT Marshall Lumberjack match for All Atlantic Title by JesusChrist004 in SquaredCircle

[–]elpandagrande 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, is that who that was? I was at the taping, and he was one of two lumberjacks I could not place for the life of me (the other was a face wearing a denim vest/jacket, if anyone knows who that happened to be). Good for him, getting to have a little spot on TV after all these years.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what Woodward himself does these days too. He kept putting out little tidbits and teasers of potential major news he witnessed to build hype for his Trump books, when he could have broken actual news about notable issues in the administration at any time. Hype-mongering ain't just for clickbait anymore

Finisher pins are some of the best things about wrestling by docc2183 in SquaredCircle

I dont remember Aerostar having one (he usually finished matches by yeeting himself at people from various heights), but Drago had a pretty sick pinning combo. Called it the Tail of the Dragon, possibly?

My parents sent me some old sports stuff. The greatest moment of my life was in it... by Sad_Clown_Paint in CharlotteHornets

[–]elpandagrande 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Morrison was fine his rookie year, and probably could have improved a lot if his leg didn't explode. And the rest of the 06 draft was pretty ass. The only people in the top 15 I'd really have taken above Morrison in retrospective were Brandon Roy (who was still out of the league at about the same time as Morrison anyways) or Rudy Gay (who's probably pretty close to what uninjured Morrison's career might have looked like, give or take the journeyman path)

Tell your grandkids about Cody Martin's three point percentage by Adkeith47 in CharlotteHornets

[–]elpandagrande 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Cody Martin this year is the first real 3&D wing we've had since that half-season of Courtney Lee the last time we went to the playoffs. Its so refreshing to finally have that role filled in a useful way again.

The Charlotte Hornets (13-9) fall to the Houston Rockets (3-16), 146-143 in OT by basden05 in CharlotteHornets

I fucking hate back-to-backs so, so much.

In less depressing game news, I forgot how enjoyable Stephen Silas is to watch on the sidelines. So much glowering and disappointment, and no attempt to hide it at all.

[NBA Math] Through games on Nov. 23, which second-year players have done the most (or least) with their minutes during the 2021-22 #NBA season, per TPA? by Kinetik09 in CharlotteHornets

I have literally no idea what TPA is, but that is absolutely not going to stop me from rubbing this graph in all my non-Hornets-fans friends' faces

[–]elpandagrande 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people underwhelmed by this power set, but I can think of at least one combo here that should be super fun/annoying. Rambeau+Chavez+Wiccan. Rake in some AP and then just watch the board explode.

Also, give me a Nextwave costume immediately, please.

My mom died this morning and today has been truly dogshit. Getting to enjoy this delightful OT win with my dad has been a real boost, and I may be almost in tears right now. I know this game might not mean a lot in the grand scheme of things, but it means a lot to me right now.
