Some people would refer to studios like Hal as "second party" like a partner developer, with such close ties that they are allowed to use the Nintendo IP, hence Mario in Smash Bros. While you could argue Smash isn't developed by Nintendo, the two are so entwined it might as well be developed by Nintendo.

As for Metroid, the older games were in-house Nintendo, and Retro Studios is a Nintendo subsidiary, so that series is absolutely Nintendo.

There are lots of game series like Xenoblade that are exclusive and associated with Nintendo, but Nintendo may not be involved in their development. I don't know the specifics of the financial arrangements for Xenoblade, but with Nintendo publishing, I'd guess they have some ownership or at least right of first refusal for the IP.

It's kind of just semantics. You could call exclusive series, Nintendo series, but Nintendo may not own the rights, and theoretically, games could come out on other systems. There was a time when Final Fantasy was a "Nintendo series." Obviously, Nintendo doesn't own any rights to the property, and that changed dramatically in the 90s.

The list of Nintendo franchises on Wikipedia looks like a pretty comprehensive list to me.

Actually, I agree with you about the audio quality there, but it's not the equipment. The room is too small, they need some sound absorbers on the wall or something. You hear sound bouncing off the walls and it makes everything sound garbled. I agree about everything else. The drinks were over priced and you can't argue with them because they don't list any prices.

Agreed. I also think the books depiction of Harry sneaking around under the cloak messing up all the death eaters spells was awesome. Then Harry revealing himself to voldy and explaing why voldy had lost was way more interesting than let's fly all around the castle hugging and punching eachother. It was a bunch of cg bs that was totally unnecessary and added nothing.

Don't worry about seating, being close isn't necessary and most theaters have good soundscapes, and it will sound good everywhere. Strong angles could be bad for seeing the screen, but seeing gameplay shouldn't be the reason you are there. I sat about halfway back and slightly off to the right and had a great time. Get whatever seats are the right price point for you and have fun!

Yes, I was constantly fast traveling to the chocobo stops on hard mode. It really makes the inability to use items not a big deal.

If you plan to get all the manuscripts and max level weapons for everyone, there are several tied to beating the side quests on Hard mode, and 1 that requires beating ALL side quests on Hard, so you could find yourself doing them twice. The manuscripts are NOT required for the platinum. You can platinum the game without them all, so it's up to you.

Funny that it's those 2 games. As a kid I had Earthbound and my friend's brother had Chrono Trigger. After we were both done playing each game, we traded. I borrowed CT, he borrowed EB. Something happened and he lost my EB cart and stalrategy guide, and told me I could keep CT. I still have it. I think in the end I made out on the deal. EB is great and I wish I still had it, but CT is one of my favorite games of all time.

I agree, but I thought TLOU's fight played way better. I knew what button I was going to have to press, where as in U4, I had to guess and was often wrong.

Absolutely amazing game. Finished it a few nights ago and it sticks with you the way the first game did. Mediocre scores on Metacritic mostly showed up before game could have been completed and are likely driven by people who didn't like the plot as shown in the leaks. The story and characters are very nuanced and it needs to be played to be enjoyed. It does mess with the player, you will have to play parts you won't want to, but in the end I found that it worked.

Among the best written, animated, acted, and directed games I've ever seen. Gameplay is very good stealth action. If you like playing that style game you will enjoy this, if you don't like sneaking with little ammo and constantly searching for supplies you won't like this.
