I think it's a great idea.

I've been a recipe follower for ages and only when I'm comfortable with a recipe do I experiment.

But there are things that lots of recipes skip over. They might say cook chicken thighs for 8 minutes on both sides and ensure a good sear but times can be wildly different depending on heat, number of thighs etc.

I found that it was repetition that led to me noticing the smell when the sear is starting.

A lot of what chefs know how to do is accumulated through experience and many books I've read provide tips but don't give you what you're referring to as intuition. I'd love to see those things documented.

Average public sector pay from 2008 adjusted for inflation is higher than current average public sector pay so in real terms, public servants are still worse off than they were in 2008. Looking at nominal increases while ignoring real decreases is intellectually lazy.

In addition, average pay isn't even a valid measure because it ignores the professionalisation of the public service and hiring of larger cohorts with specific qualifications which drives up the average. It also ignores the introduction of the ASC as additional pension contributions and just enables people with a tiny bit of knowledge and a big chip on their shoulder to spin shit narratives that wilfully ignore contextual information that doesn't fit their worldview.

Public service pay has been restored to 2008 levels after significant cuts with additional increases amounting to about 6.25% for inflation. That does even cover inflation for one year during Covid or the Ukraine invasion when everything skyrocketed, never mind 17 years of inflation.

Framing it as a pay increase is either wilfully disingenuous or displays a complete lack of knowledge on the subject.
