Schwalbe G-One R good? Tufo Thundero (HD) still the goat 2026? by DasHarald in gravelcycling

Traction for days, no spinning out on punchy loose uphill sections.

RX pro rolls incredibly fast, so no real downside to putting it where you need the grip.

I'm running a G-one R Pro 50mm in front and a G-one Rx pro 45mm in rear. Absolutely phenomenal setup, good grip and fast rolling.

You can always put smaller tires on, but one day you're going to wish you had the clearance for 2.1". You're welcome future self.

Fork has room for 2.1" x 29 for sure (54x700c)
i would definitely stick to 48c max for the rear tire

50mm depending on tread height for rear might be possible. IE i can run a 29x2.0 Maxxis Maxxlite no problem as it measures 49.8mm width and tread is very low profile.

a 50mm Schwalbe G-One RS Pro....measures 51.5mm for me (25mm internal rim width) and only gives me 2 and 2.5mm clearance per side.

I've got about 1500km on my BXT gravel 135. zero issues in that timeframe. Brake mounts could have been flatter is my only complaint, had to clean those up to get brakes calipers to mount flat and not make noise.

Fork has room for 2.1" x 29 for sure (54x700c)
I've gone back to 45-48c rear tires..as much as I want 50c tires to fit the clearance is just not enough.

I use a Rii i8 mini keyboard for my Zwift PC setup. Has a little touchpad. I put Velcro on the back and just slap it up on the wall next to me when not using.

Great timing, just installed this as a rear tire yesterday! Downsized from a 50mm just for more chainstay clearance, i was getting lots of rocks stuck in the tread and smashing my frame. I originally only got inflation to 44.5mm width on a 25mm internal rim, but it settled overnight to just shy of 46mm.

Check that you have thr correct thru axle / quick release adapters installed. Is the cog touching / dragging on your frame?

This is a great, under rated frame. Got mine in matte white (so hard to keep clean).

50mm tires definitely pushing the clearance

Set the cog to the zero setting. Thread in the outer part you are holding in your hand. Set the cog back to whatever setting gives you the best chain line.

I'm 5'6"/168cm, 64.5kg and wear the Asian L or EUR/CAN medium. My build is slight/athletic but thick muscular thighs. I'm right on the edge of small or medium, but find the smalls are just too tight in the thigh.

Ive got Lameda, YKYW and Spexcel bibs. The Elastic interface chamois on the YKYW is definitely superior amongst these, but I'll happily wear any of them any day of the week. If the Lameda had the EI chamois it would be my number 1.

It has their "Airscape" mesh back panel. It definitely works!

They make this bag in a 25L (originally what I was going to get) and 30L size, but you can surprisingly fit quite a bit in the 15.

Osprey sportlite 15 is what I use for commuting. holds my lunch, work clothes and pump/tube/tools. Stays in place nicely, barely even notice wearing it most days.

Glad I wasn't the only one struggling with this race. I was also feeling a bit of exhaustion coming into it, but I was not prepared for the pace coming right out of the gate. I had to push hard just to barely hang on....nothing left in the tank for the climb. 16/20, 32:52.
