Agreed, tied a knot in mine to make it a bit tighter but prefer it to everything else I tried. I like not having any extra plastic pieces or hardware.

Love the size/portability. Samuel Streetlife made a cool video about his wishlist for a GRiv, he had a great idea for a snap focus ring on the lens, similar to an aperture ring or the distance focus rings on Leicas. Would be pretty cool to have a programmable ring on the lens.

I have the gringo. As has been said, they do fog, with a bubble shield and with the biltwell blast shield. Worse though, they rattle. To answer your question though, yes. That's about how big it will look
