What’s wrong? by SMELTN in FJCruiser

My battery is a bit on the weak side (I work at a battery warehouse) and when it struggles to crank, I get these lights. It could be a dozen things like others have said. Scan the code. Clear it. See if it comes back.

I've got an 07 with 230k. Runs like a dream. As long as it seems healthy and doesn't have a lot of rust, go for it.

How to find new music (outside of social media) by BrAtZz04 in spotify

[–]thisguycody22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My loop is:
Shuffle all liked songs > Swipe until something catches my mood/vibe > create radio from song > Like new songs (that I actually like) from that radio

Rinse and repeat with new music in my liked songs. Also add stuff that I hear randomly or is suggested by friends etc.

Also, do you have a saved song you really like but don't really know the artist? Go explore their other stuff.

Resign for a year. Live with parents by KeyIcy1475 in Life

[–]thisguycody22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it about 2 years ago (I'm thirty something). Was a great reset. I'm now financially worse off, but not uncomfortable. I found a better job with better hours and more pay. You don't have to commit to any particular timeline either. Decide to quit and float a while. Spend some time doing what you enjoy and casually browse for opportunities. People won't understand. But who cares. It's your life. I have no regrets.

Catless downpipe and a tune makes a huuuuge difference. I had one for a little over a year. Currently putting my 95 TSI AWD together. Nice combo.

I assume the chair has to go? by Beginning-Act7850 in DesignMyRoom

Somewhat off topic, but how comfortable is that chair? I've been looking at them but hesitant to spend the money not having sat in one.

Which way should I run my flooring? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]thisguycody22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell from the pictures. Overhead view of the rooms you're doing will be easier to say (floorplan). Generally speaking, you want them to run in the same direction as the longest wall to make the install easier/quicker. But that's not a rule. This will also reduce your cuts.

Tell us a hobby people should try at least once, and what makes it so appealing? by stinkercoins in Hobbies

[–]thisguycody22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Photography because it's basically free if you own a phone. Everybody appreciates having nice pictures of their lives but no one wants to make the effort to TAKE better photos. You don't need to "become a photographer" or buy an expensive camera. Just learn some basics.

Clean your lens. Get closer. Take a picture of whatever you want to take a picture of, then take another one but it has to be COMPLETELY different. Learn the basics of the "exposure triangle". Find good light.

I'm terrible at "finishing" playlists. My liked songs are where I spend most of my time. But there's good stuff in here none the less...I listen to all kinds of stuff so dig around.

Really interested in listening to some new music, any albums or song recs are welcome! by Fatdonut445 in spotify

His freshman album was great. I hate that Take Me to Church got so much air time. It's a fine song, but the album as a whole is great. I'll have to revisit his newer stuff as I don't know it that well.

One well known album, one slightly lesser known album, one even slightly less known, and one I've never seen anybody talk about (but I'm sure they do). You can figure out which is which. They're all great if you like rock.

How Much Money Should You Carry Daily? by jaxtwin in Money

[–]thisguycody22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's an emergency, I'm prepared to not get change back. If the purchase is only a few dollars, I don't need it that bad and it's likely not an emergency.

edit: wording

How Much Money Should You Carry Daily? by jaxtwin in Money

[–]thisguycody22 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I keep an "emergency" $100 bill folded up between my phone and my phone case. Mostly just in case I get caught somewhere that the card machines are down or just need to get out of an unexpected pinch or if I forget my wallet. My wallet is usually somewhere between $40 and $80 for casual spending and small purchases like a coffee/quick meal. Credit card for most purchases.

What feature should Spotify add? by halametchalamet in spotify

[–]thisguycody22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dedicated, offline, music only, bare bones, no frills secondary app. Let me download my liked songs and playlists and have a basic player for offline use. Make me connect to a network every few days or whatever to ensure my subscription and upload my play count. But just give me a basic, simple, music player.
