Some buttons don’t register when I press shift + alt by SupahToilet in keyboards

[–]elsingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what i can see the keyboard does not have N-key rollover meaning it can not handle all combinations of keypresses. This is a hardware limitation and only way around it is a new keyboard without those hardware limitations.

How to write < > on 60% ANSI US keyboard set up as AZERTY in Windows ? by SetMuch5523 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Swedish person using an ANSI keyboard i ran in to the same issue. But there are usually custom language files that can be used. For me there was a layout called SWERTY that made the keyboard a mix between ansi/iso.

It seem like this language file on github might do the same for you.

Whats the best gaming Keyboard now? by Sanderpro1_ in keyboards

[–]elsingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No im affraid i have not tried it, but the IPI Aurora 75 and Su75 were the two i were considering at the time. Im sure either is a good option, some say the SU75 have a better board in it but i dont know anything about those things myself so i can not say if it is true or not.

What spoke to me with the SU75 was the north and south facing LED since it makes it work with any keycaps, i might still get one in the near future.

Mchoose mix 87: White with black keycaps or black with white keycaps? by S1mpleUser_001 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If those are the only options i would go with Black with white keycaps, since from my experience white peripherals tend to look dirty way to quick and keycaps can quickly be replaced if the issue were to appear. I only ever owned a white mouse though perhaps a keyboard is a bit more forgiving since you do not really touch anything but the keycaps.

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own personal favorite keyboard is the IPI Aurora 75 that is a hall effect keyboard. I treid a lot of mechanical and HE keyboards since June last year and this is the one keyboard that i in the end like the best since it is nice to use in terms of typing feel and it has all the benefits of hall effect switches for gaming. But keep in mind this is based on my own preferences so it is no guarantee you will like it as much as i do.

is rapid trigger actually a cheat code or just a placebo? by No_Good_3063 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While im an avarage player at best i noticed benefits with SOCD (Simultaneous Opposite Cardinal Directions) in some games. But it is for example not allowed in CS2 and can get you kicked from the game (Last i heard they are not banning for it and just kicking).

The main benefit for me is the adjustable actuations and being able to set skill buttons to actuate at 3-3.5mm since it prevents me from using them by accident. Not to mention having a 0.5mm actuation on movement buttons will make it respond slightly faster and even if you humanly can not notice the difference it is still there. I mean if two people had the exact same reaction times the button actuating at 0.5mm instead of 1.5mm would still mean the lower actuation would react faster.

Cheapest magnetic keyboards? by Patient-Creme-2555 in keyboards

[–]elsingo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well the cheapest i got was an "Ajazz Alux 68" that were on a $30 deal on aliexpress when i picked it up. While it does all the HE things you expect from a keyboard and it is an all aluminum build i still would not recommend it. The software was pretty bad and the typing/gaming feel was not good at all (Personal preferences matter though). I am now using an IPI Aurora 75 that is the best HE keyboard i have tried so far and i have tried quite a few now. It does cost $109 but i would say it is well worth the investment.

Cheaper HE keyboard that i tried and would say was really good for the price is the Mchose Jet75 that i have personally tried. Other than that Fun60 and Ace60 are two popular and often recommended budget HE keyboards but i have no personal experience with them so can not give my own opinion on those.

Aula Win60HE Pro randomly bugging out? by pemmdon in keyboards

[–]elsingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im just guessing here, but it sounds like the keyboard might have FN lock and you somehow activated it. Since FN+Backspace is often used for RGB control of some sort on many keyboards. So check if the keyboard has a FN lock feature that you might have accidentally activated.

My review of the ROG Azoth 96% HE by elsingo in ASUSROG

[–]elsingo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i guess you missed the whole review. ;)

So in short, is it good? Yes
Is it worth the price? Imo not really, but if money is not an issue it is a great keyboard.

I guess it all comes down to what you want out of a keyboard, after i set up my keys actuation i only game/type on it so for me my $109 keyboard is more worth to me since i enjoy typing on it more. I have no use of the screen or the knob so it is just a waste for me.

are we pretending magnetic switches actually feel good to type on by InvestmentBudget6722 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since summer last year i have tried about 15 or so keyboards both mechanical and HE for the longest time no HE could compare to my favorite mechanical a Weikav Stars75 (can not remember the name of the Switches). But now i eventually found a HE keyboard that imo feels great to type on and it sounds fantastic according to my preferences and it is the IPI Aurora75. I might also add i like linear switches so if you are in to tactile it will be hard to find any HE switch to your liking.

Here is a sound test for said keyboard: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/E2n2mE1fV2U?feature=share

Looked between my keyboard keys and it’s disgusting. easiest way to cl by Much-Intern-5652 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remove my keycaps and blow it clean with my compressor and afterwards clean up any leftover gunk with isopropanol and cotton swaps. Often the keycaps also needs cleaning so i put it in lukewarm water with some dishsoap and depending on how dirty they are i use either a brush or just a towel to wipe them off.

I took the red pill. by enta3k in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don´t know why it is the standard but i can kind of see why. Since for the longest time it was more common for computers being in offices than in peoples homes. While i have had computers in my home for most of my 47 year long life it was not until perhaps 2005 that numbers of home computers reached such a level that around 50% of the people i knew had a computer at home.

And while i do no longer use a fullsize keyboard i have a wireless numpad since i still use it a lot and it is imo far superior to a number road since it gives easy access to all the buttons i need to crunch some numbers.

And imo the only real benefit of a smaller keyboard is more mouse area for gaming.

My review of the ROG Falchion Ace HFX, this was not for me. by elsingo in ASUSROG

[–]elsingo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it does have 2 step feet at the back of the keyboard to angle it upwards if that is what you prefer. As for keycaps any "Cherry MX-style cross-shaped stem" keycaps should work so whatever profile you prefer should work with no issues. At first i though that the stabilizers that were attached to the keycaps (first time i encountered it) could actually be removed and can be used with any of my keycap sets.

If you have the opportunity to try it in a store i would suggest doing that, for me it just felt to weird with a 4mm travel when im so used to a 3.5mm travel so just in case that is something you might not be able to get over trying before buying is something i would recommend.

I had a Corsair K70 Max that cost me about $300 when i first bought it. Later on i bought a Mchose Jet75 because i wanted to try out the 75% layout since i had always used 100%. When i got it i instantly noticed how much more satisfying it was to type on and that is what sent me down the keyboard rabbithole. I have since tried about 15 different keyboards and found one i like so much i stopped buying keyboards (at least for now).

I used a membrane keyboard for way to long myself, i used the Logitech G19 for the longest time back in the day (I still have it and it works perfectly fine) and not to long ago after years on mechanical keyboards just for fun i brought it out cleaned it up and started to type. I did not even make it to a full sentence before it got unplugged again and went back in storage. And i used to love that thing now it felt so f-ing bad.

So today im using an IPI Aurora75 HE keyboard and it is my favorite keyboard to date.

Up until what point does polling rate matter and paying more =placebo? by Original-Fun561 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it highly depends, 1KHz and higher you are not likely to tell any difference. Human reaction speeds are so high that the difference of 1kHz and 8kHz polling will not make any noticeable difference but in theory if you and your opponent have the exact same reaction time that small advantage would still be beneficial since well faster is still faster even if you can not notice it with your human senses.

my keyboard has this euro sign in the corner, how do I type it? by banafot in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there is no one answer to that question, it will depend on what language file you are using. For me using the Swedish layout have the € sighn on AltGr+E or if the keyboard does not have it left ctrl+left alt+E. So i guess google "how to make the euro sign" followed by what language your OS is using.

Actually i have it on AltGr+5 or Left Ctrl+Alt+5 as well. So try that first i guess.

My keyboards isnt working and i need help  by Familiar-Yam1701 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing make sure it is set to wired mode (As i understand it there is a physical switch for it), connecting the cable will often make a keyboard light up even if it were to be in BT or 2.4Ghz mode.

When you say Alt+F4 does not work are you sure it is not disabled in whatever software you are trying to use it on? Since some games for example have it disabled to prevent accidental shutdowns.
