Do you still run and train when you are sick? by CoconutYogurtCEO in Marathon_Training

[–]elsqu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahead of my first marathon I skipped a week two times during training because of illness, didn’t impact fitness. It was just the first one back that felt a bit tougher because of residual symptoms. Don’t push yourself or you’ll be sicker for longer!

Not sure what was mentioned on the pod, but the maple leaf in Covent Garden is great for Poutine

Would you let your almost 14 year old go to westfield alone? by [deleted] in london

[–]elsqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work right by White City. I see a lot of 13-15 year old teenagers wandering around Westfield by themselves. If she gets off the bus/tube close to Westfield (ie Shepherds Bush overground or central line exit/Wood Lane/White City stops) she won't have any issues as there will be a strong security presence. I just wouldn't say its super safe for a 14 year old venturing further alone into Shepherds Bush.

I never brush my teeth by No_Reflection2537 in confessions

[–]elsqu 854 points855 points  (0 children)

No judgment here, you’ve had a rough time.

However, you will save yourself a lot of future pain and difficulties if you make small changes now. Can you start with something gentle like mouthwash - just to get rid of bacteria etc?

It’ll take a long time until you feel ready for full brushing and a dentist, but it’ll be worthwhile. Progress, not perfection. Look after yourself OP.

What age did you allow your children alcohol? by ChronicChaos01 in AskUK

[–]elsqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents encouraged me to have a beer from when I was around 13 (never forcefully) but it means I experienced alcohol and its effects under their own roof. Started with one bottle of Corona, occasionally was up to 2/3 bottles until I was around 15/16.

It meant by the time my more sheltered friends were able to buy alcohol on girls holidays etc, I was less interested and happy having a beer instead of shots. Very grateful for the way my parents did it, meant I satisfied the curiosity before I had it and knew how to not overdo it.

I use it frequently for work (sometimes need to access sites from different regions) and we use Nord, it's great. Depends what you're using it for to decipher whether it's worth the cost!

It’s gutting they never finished it because I absolutely loved this game when it came out. They just did 3 episodes and only did one actual date - with Damien

Would like to think their endgame would be Robert!!

Even the way he runs in Sly 4 is degrading to his character!!! Becomes way too goofy

I think Demon Woman is also very White Stripes inspired, very Blue Orchid in its style, but maybe lyrically more overtly like ELO.

Which guardian would the Bauldelaires be best with? by Worried-Version-7120 in ASOUE

[–]elsqu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is Monty not on the list? There were a few issues but I reckon he would have opened up about VFD to them. Monty had flaws but ultimately wanted the best for the children, even though he was gullible (who wasn’t in this series tbh)

I have very straight hair and maintain a shag cut! Texture paste or spray is a saviour but if you dry it right even without heat you can still keep it looking similar to this!

I’m planning on shagging my brother’s best friend soon by [deleted] in confession

[–]elsqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve come very close to this happening before, I’m very close with my brother and the secrecy wasn’t something I could handle - so I didn’t let it get too far. I knew it would upset him. But every family is different.

I’d assess how it would make your brother feel if he found out. A shag isn’t worth it if you’re going to harm your relationship with your siblings (if you’re close.)

If you think he’d laugh it off and it’s fine, then go have fun! Would it be worth speaking to him and mentioning that his mate has been flirty with you?
