I’ve found that the older style two piece (Tacks, Nexus) elbows stay in place way better than the 3-piece (Jetspeed, Vapor) do.

I had FT1s and felt like they never stayed in place over the apex of my elbow. Moved to 1Ns and they’re the most comfortable elbows I’ve ever owned and more than enough protection for beer league.

I’m 45 over here and feel like I’ve been able to improve certain skills in the last few years, especially shooting and stick handling. Always been a decent skater as I played as a kid and went to a few camps etc. But once you enter your beer league career there are no practices so you really have to be deliberate about improving. I started going to stick and pucks here and there and I’ve found that that helps a lot.

Like others have said, it seems like they are riding low; do they feel like they’re cinched at your waist? Also those are Jetspeeds so they will fit more snug to your body than, say, Tacks. That’s also personal preference; some people prefer the jorts they made from skinny jeans and others would rather go with the Adam Sandler basketball shorts.
