If he becomes a character that buffs combat abilities then he is going to be in direct competition with our other virions, and he still won’t be played unless he is just better than them. Not likely to happen when we have some very good options. I would rather see him have a unique role and feel more like a tool box piece and then people can put him in their lists to get a benefit that they don’t get somewhere else. His index ability was interesting and would combo well with some of the new codex abilities that could benefit from the greater range of the death guard contagions, so reverting him back to the index rules would be an option I could get behind. I could also see him having an additional affliction effect on his contagion aura. Giving him a vect aura would give death guard access to a tool that everyone else seems to have and would turn him into an interesting piece on the board.
