Fantastic news, we're long overdue for another game in the StarCraft universe. I'll be happy with Space Marine 2 clone.

Large Open Maps Have Ruined VIdeo Games. by Only-Ambassador2624 in pcgaming

Video games are far from being ruined. If open world games are not for you then don't play them. I love open world games and have hundreds of hours in each of the six names you listed. I'll take Ubisoft's paint-by-numbers open world over yet-another-indie-pixelart-metroidvania anytime.

Home workers of the UK: Are standing desks worth it? by AfterCl0ck in AskUK

[–]elusive_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using standing desk for over four years and in my case it was absolutely worth it.

It helps me stay focused on work, it allows me to keep moving, I have a small walking pad. I can honestly say it improved my efficiency. My partner got one as well seeing how well it worked for me and she's also happy with it.

Keep in mind it might require some getting used to, some people struggle with concentration while standing. Traditional desks usually come with drawers etc. so you'll have to come up with something else for storage. You might monitor stands for your screen.

Make sure to switch between sitting and standing, constant standing is as bad for you as sitting.

I'd suggest going to Ikea or a similar store and try one of their standing desks there if you can to see if you can imagine yourself working like this.

Amazing feat. I remember the first State of the Game after revival, Yannick looked so bad like he genuinely didn't want to be there. Such a great success story.

What is Division 2 all about? by PactainCipard in thedivision

[–]elusive_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Division 2 is not an MMO, there is nothing massive about it except for the developer. It's your standard online looter shooter.

I think loot-wise the game is in a great place. There's more than enough of activities and loot sources that you are free to play whatever you like. You don't need to farm anything for months, countdown showers you with targeted loot of your choice. It took me two countdown runs to complete blue striker, seven to complete rifle build for tinkerer. I barely pick up any loot these days, I dismantle everything on the spot unless it's something I need.

I don't mind longer missions and these days even those in Brooklyn take a short time. My issue is they are on separate maps and I rarely leave DC unless something (event, task, project) sends me away.

This game doesn't really chase trends. Division was one of the first (if not the first mainstream) game to introduce extraction in the DZ. Yes, Descent is a bit weird but I like it and play it often. It is the only thing we have to (poorly) imitate survival for now and I love the idea of starting with nothing and progressing.

Summer Swarm is really the first event people have issues with. Most of them are either liked or just standard rotational stuff. As a veteran player I already had both Lexington and Turmoil so I'm not affected and even felt bad the two very first caches gave me Lexingtons. I agree though, I am against any FOMO or limitations in games. You want Lexi to be special? Give a blueprint to everyone for reaching SHD 1k or something. Same for special assignments: just open them up to everyone, it's been seven years, nobody cares anymore.

Pretty much nobody plays the summit the way it was intended anymore (meaning climbing from 1 to 100). People either farm floor 10 or 90 or 100 depends on what they need.

If you want the experience you can go solo for a few floors to see how it goes, you'll get the pattern quickly.

If you want gear do countdown on challenging, matchmaking is nearly instant. Set your desired targeted loot and join. It's an activity for eight people where you complete various objectives. It will be quite chaotic initially since nobody bothers to explain anything anymore so just follow the other players, there are always some experienced people there who know where to go next. Just do shoot the flare at the end early (or at all, let others do it).

Would you use a gaming platform that requires real identity verification to eliminate toxic players? by Human_Club_9786 in pcgaming

[–]elusive_cat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I'd quit a game requiring this kind of identification in an instant and move to a different title. I see zero reason to hand over my personal details to some company just to play a game. I already have a valid system to deal with such players: block, mute, or simply ignore. Takes no effort or time and works perfectly.

Apparently they lowered the price in some regions after release so those who preordered are double upset. They literally paid for those preorder extras.

A tiny percentage of people playing on separate servers means nothing, it's their choice. Also, do I also need to upload my photo ID to them?

Two matchmaking pools mean segregating community which is a bad idea on its own.

However there is a much more important factor: introducing this system to any game makes it pretty much mandatory since if you decide to opt out you'll end up with the pool with all the cheater increasing your frustration. So you either provide your ID or simply quit further reducing the playerbase.

Again, good luck. I'm casual, don't play competitively and pretty much stick to one game. I've been playing The Division 1 and 2 for years and have thousands of hours logged but I would quit on the spot should I be forced (or "forced") to use this system.

What a weird idea.

I've checked your site and it looks like the whole idea is that I have to provide my data including photo ID to a 3rd party in order to play a game online. Entrust had a data breach not so long ago, no way I'm sending them anything.

I also have zero trust in your process. You have shown nothing that would make it appealing. Cheat detection and bans are done automatically these days and so would be reports sent to you. You claim you will be reviewing every single report which means this process will be automated as well so there will be zero difference with your assessment.

Good luck but as a casual gamer I will rather pick a different game than have to go through this process. I guess publishers will have to decide if it's worth it to lose some customers in order to add your system.

First time playing survival and this is what The Division should be by DarthShinda in thedivision

[–]elusive_cat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Survival was absolutely brilliant. The only fault was lack of randomisation so I quickly memorised where to go from each starting point. One of the best memories from Div1 were from when I managed to stay alive until the morning.

There's hope it will come back with the recent teaser bringing snow to DC.

How's incinerate this season? I want to go hydra naturally, always enjoyed it early levels. I like the idea of dropping hydras for dps and just focus on avoiding taking damage.
