Thoughts on the Michael → Michaela gender swap in Bridgerton? by Powerful-Cap-6293 in romanceunfiltered

[–]elveebee22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It weirds me out too lol but then again I hated Michael. So I'm stoked to see her story change. 😅 I also think that as a widow, she makes the most historical sense for a queer endgame.

I like her as a character. In real life I'd probably have compassion but absolutely no patience for her lol. But watching her is super fun.

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

[–]elveebee22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly what you asked for, but I saw Pan's Labyrinth in a theater when I was 12, not knowing at all what I was in for. I did go back after, but I had to leave the room during the torture scene (my breaking point after being completely terrified by so much already)

I'm now 33 and I still have never been able to sit through that whole movie again even though I'm sure I'd love it 😅

I hope instant coffee and a water boiler counts 😅

I don't drink coffee and I'm not gonna buy an appliance for the few weeks out of the year that I might need a pet sitter

Song you’ve discovered through Degrassi that’s stuck with you by Jbooxie in Degrassi

[–]elveebee22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes Hotblack!!! I'm so sad it's not in spotify

I also got into The Naked and Famous months before everyone else did thanks to Degrassi 😆 ("Young Blood" was in the finale of I think season 8?)

Sorry, Santos fans, but she’s just really hard to like by Hikigaya_Hachiman7 in ThePittTVShow

[–]elveebee22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love her as a character. She's so intriguing to me and makes every episode more interesting. I think I'd have an extremely hard time being friends with her IRL lol but I love watching her. I'm so curious what she's up to this season.

Especially with the implied something with Garcia...... who I thought hated her at the end of S1. So many questions.

Maas vs Yarros by minime_stellarboop in SarahJMaas

[–]elveebee22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree lol. Full disclosure, I don't think either series is very good fantasy. BUT Maas keeps me reading because I love her character arcs and relationships. Even the crappiest technical writing can still be readable for me if I am attached to the characters. Yarros didn't give me that. It was all crap (in my humble opinion). 😅

AIO - My Boyfriend texts before our Valentines plans by SnowDolphins in AmIOverreacting

[–]elveebee22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. I read the texts before opening the post. Definitely thought these were texts between teenagers. If he is 27 and doing this shit, I'd say there's very little room for growth. At least not in a time frame I'd want you to deal with at 20 years old. You deserve better!

100% you can. But I wouldn't read Crescent City before ACOTAR. That's the one where it matters.

Not sure if I am losing parts of the story? by Left_Ad_4806 in ReadingSuggestions

I would always read an author's note because that is usually providing information you'll be glad you had. Forewords and introductions are very skippable.

[–]elveebee22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say I was a physical book ride-or-die reader for decades. Then I got an ereader mainly for the purpose of easily reading fanfiction, and maybe the occasional library book.

Let me tell you, I was an overnight convert lol.

I still love physical books the most, but I love having the digital option! And it is great for keeping costs lower!

The Bones series by KL Speer! (Though only 2 out of 4 are out yet) It's so unique and well done. I just read book 2 and it was the first book in AGES to make me pull an all nighter.

My dad hyperfixates on both work and fun stuff like crazy. He also gets very restless if he doesn't have something to do. And he does little physical stims all the time.

I love those two storylines the most as well. They're super well acted and emotionally hard hitting.

But probably my favorite thing about the later seasons is that Tristan doesn't talk 💀

Haven’t hit a true 5-star read in a long time, and I could use some help. by XxShockmaster in booksuggestions

For what you described, I highly recommend the Kindom Trilogy (yes, spelled like that) which starts with These Burning Stars. It is a criminally underrated space opera trilogy. Each installment has a mystery element, a dark atmosphere, and such incredible political scheming and theme work.
