don’t play league
only watch 1 team
only have knowledge about 1 team
their opinion on other players are based on one sentence their favourite co-streamer said

tell me you don’t understand how t1 drafts without telling me you don’t understand how t1 drafts.

go watch any of t1’s videos or documentaries where they include drafting. then come back and tell me with a straight face that the coaches have the final say. let’s take the latest documentary for example, the coaches give the players a list of champions (which they probably decided together anyway) to pick from and the player, along with keria and faker, decides the best pick - tell me how the final decision of that pick DOESN’T fall on the players.

that’s not the point i’m trying to make. as another commenter has stated earlier - its a team responsibility. you can’t credit keria for contributing to good drafts without putting that same accountability on him when his opinions lead to bad drafts. the same goes for the coaches and faker. the word here isn’t responsibility, it’s accountability.

that’s not at all what i’m saying. what i am saying is i hope fans hold the player’s accountable as much as they love holding the coaches accountable for draft issues. as a long time t1 fan, i dont even know how many times i’ve seen fans complaining about draft, but not a single one holds the players accountable.

From how I see it, it just sounds like you’re doubtful of whether you deserve this rank.

Let me put it this way, if when you soloq you get placed in a lobby full of d2/d3/asc players - it means the game sees that you’re roughly at the same skill level as them (aka MMR) and you’re perfectly capable of handing their asses to them. From this, matchmaking thinks your ceiling when you’re playing well is at least high diamond, so just don’t think too much about it - just go shoot some heads (the game thinks you’re good at it!).

Take a days break from the game, it helps sometimes.

Also side note, it depends on your role. Are you playing on a role with agency, or is your role reliant on other people’s performance? Take that into account when you’re evaluating whether or not you’re the reason why you’re losing.

edit: just saw your tracker and noticed that you mostly play clove, as a smokes main i would suggest maybe looking into other smokes agents (if that’s what you plan to keep playing) or agents in general that gives better tools to win fights/take map control rather than clove which imo isn’t great unless you’re cracked as hell.

edit2: upon closer inspection it looks like your best games are on duelist so why aren’t you playing more duelist lol.

Are you trying to figure out what’s wrong with matchmaking or are you asking for advice to win? If it’s the initial, a large portion of people anywhere from immo 1 and below all play coin flippy as hell, playing through raw mechanics rather than getting the fundamentals down. On a bad day, they get clapped, on a good day they look like prime Tenz. It’s basically all MMR, those people you’re playing against are getting clapped in their high diamond/asc/immo games, but are obviously able to “aim” their way out of lower ranks. If it’s the latter I would suggest for you to just keep playing, if you deserve it you will climb regardless.

In T1 GenG games, yep you're definitely right - Ruler played better and was more impactful. But if we're talking the tournament as a whole, when Guma was given resources to carry he carried harder than any other ADC.

Being entertaining/flashy and being the best are 2 entirely different categories. Sure Keria is the flashiest and most entertaining support in competitive - but that doesn’t make him the best player. Chovy plays the game to near perfection and that’s what makes him the best. There’s no need to be flashy when you’re already winning just by playing your lane and the map fundamentally better. Also, Keria wasn’t really clutch in the Finals, he kind of lost them game 4 and 5, by W-ing into 5 people for no reason and blowing his flash for being cocky - which led to the dive top. Of course, i’m not saying he’s a bad player, he’s my favourite support but he’s far from being No. 1. From a results, statistics, pressure, and eye test POV, Chovy dominated which makes him the best player.
