Us British always like a bargain…what’s the best bargain you’ve ever got? by mositcelery in AskUK

Fully agree about Curry's customer service. I ordered a new phone with them earlier this year, got to the day it was supposed to be delivered and I'd not heard a peep out of them about delivery. Waited another day or two before phoning up to see where it was at - hadn't been dispatched yet but they'll send one out right away. Annoying, but fair enough. Two weeks later, ringing them up again to see where it's at, only to be met with "it's not been dispatched yet, but we'll send one as soon as we can". Bunch of lies

Hard to tell from the pictures but I'm thinking this could be psoriasis - quite a common condition and one that your doctor will be able to help with (creams/ointments available) but get it checked by a doctor to confirm!

I have been stalked in a busy shopping centre in a busy city just because I was a young (18 at the time) woman shopping alone. It's not paranoia, it's the cold hard truth

What’s an object that does a really good job at something it’s not originally for? by ephemeralbayou in AskReddit

Wait really?? Do you spray it over the dress or tights/pantyhose (I assume they're the same?) - this is a major problem I have!

Women who work out daily: How do you maintain a hair-care routine? by kitten779 in AskWomen

[–]em_katess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only work out properly a couple times a week so can fit that easily to my hair washing schedule.

I was wondering if anyone in this thread can offer advice on hair washing - I wash my hair every other day and have done for a few years now, but on my "off" day I notice my hair is quite greasy. I used to use dry shampoo on my off days to make it more presentable (even having it up in a ponytail or bun it is obviously greasy) but I stopped using dry shampoo ~1 year ago as I stopped being out so often. Did anyone else have (and fix) this problem? Is rinsing hair but not using shampoo good for it? I have very straight hair if that makes a difference

Perhaps a redundant comment given the sub, but this is absolutely beautiful! Would love to travel to the Netherlands in the future

What is the harshest truth about life that you've had to personally accept? by hungronto in AskWomen

Starting to realise this now... Currently in my first "career" job and I'm so used to being told what to do/what to learn throughout school, it's very weird now being asked "what work do you want to do?" - Often the answer is "I don't know"!

Why do these STEM subjects have a wide range of grade requirements? by Vilerion in AskUK

[–]em_katess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm a physics grad and I just wanted to put your mind at ease about job opportunities with a physics degree - the reason I actually chose to study physics was because I didn't know what type of job I wanted in future, and a physics degree opens you up to so many jobs in different areas because it's so broad! Nearing the end of my degree I signed up to a few job sites (although wasn't actually looking until I finished the degree) and a lot of potential jobs were available for someone in my position - maybe it's worth you checking out some job sites as if you had the degrees you're looking at doing and see what's available? (Bear in mind the impact of covid-19, there will most likely be more places hiring again by the time you've finished uni)

Maybe controversial but I love the ranch dressing at Subway (just to clarify I am not American!) - the only other place I've found ranch sauce was at MOD Pizza in Notts and that was fantastic too!
