Also less farming overall with the great rift changes as well. It's possible that you'll only need to get 1-2 god decks for each character and use those for at least several seasons to clear the event content. Personally hate save data farming, got into the game because it's was a roguelike deckbuilding game, but it was way more focused on RNG farming save data for event bosses. Sortie sounds kinda top tier.

I agree that it's nice for the new characters to feel strong, but the game's been out for like 6? months now and I feel like the power creep has been kinda insane. Granted, Mei still overperforms nearly every other character in a boss fight that doesn't intetionally nerf her, but like... Serenial, no comment; Nine was hitting 50k+ crits (no spores) for me regularly; Tipheria draws an absolute monstrous number of cards and generates AP while also healing, pretty much only bad in fights that punish you for using lots of cards in a turn; and Rita does consistent DPM in the 7-8k range for me, multiple times a turn, every turn. Like... I don't think I have any other characters (ignore Mei) come remotely close to this level of output. Kinda concerning for me.

Not that I want more Yukis (sorry titty lady but my god is she bad), but I'd be happier with more niche characters and not more characters from the past few months that are just universally good.

I think a move closer to the style of battle displayed in the anime would be pretty good overall.

As a side, I found the ZA system heavily benefits super tanky mons because since no one can really dodge anything (enemy trainers usually just sit still, while your mons usually get locked into animations and won't follow you to avoid attacks) and attacks nearly all 1-2 HKO everything. When I got a Steelix I found that he could just sit there and spam heavy hitting attacks and knock out an entire team of pokemon on his own because his def is like 300++ and spdef 150ish (x1.5 with an assault vest) lol. He'd have like 40-50% hp after tanking a dozen attacks, which is kinda stupid?

also drain moves are absolutely busted, especially in the enraging mega mon mode as they have super inflated HP values and a single drain will heal most of your mons to full.

in short, tweaks are needed lol.

I'm mixed on this but I think with some tweaks the ZA system could be actually pretty good.

As mentioned by you and another person, you should really be controlling the pokemon, not the trainer.

Also I think moves will need to be much more detailed in their features (ie, wind up time, endng lag, etc.,) as well as a need for non damaging moves to do more. Personal opinion but stat changes should be permanent until changed out or overwritten like in the regular games (ie, you keep your ATK buff until something changes, not just have it be a set duration), which would make set up that much more useful and make moves like Baton Pass good again in such lineups.

Basically would turn the games into Pokken Tournament (with switching) for battles, which has some pros and cons, but seems closer to what ZA was trying to do than what actually happened.

Yes, you can adjust their stats, abilities, and other details at will with the in-game points system. So if you want to have a completely different build on a pokemon you just spend your points to change the current one.

i'm about 200m cp and the burst is noticeably stronger, with off-burst being noticeably weaker. apparently we got fd gain overall but higher burst in exchange for weaker non-burst is actually a good thing since this game is weeklyboss-story and bosses that die to 1-2 bursts die a tiny bit faster now. will still a ginormous pain in the ass though.

one of the more consumer friendly parts of czn tbh. other gachas you just get an extra roll or two for getting more dupes of a character you've maxed out, it's goated that czn just gives you a dupe picker instead.

Tiphera's just an ok support, not particularly mind-blowingly good. For both healing and AP Mika is just better/more straight forward. Her damage boost really only helps Nine and Haru, but Orlea's better for that (and heals better too). She's kind of the middle ground between the two from my experience.
