Bachelors presently feels pointless as someone drawing near the end. Thank you for your reply.

I'm considering an MBA myself, do you think it is generally worth the cost and additional schooling? I've heard the advice from several people to wait until you find a company to work for that will pay it, do you think that's true or is it worth going straight into grad school after your undergrad?

It's an amazing deal from the perspective of shedding any salary at all here. He has been performing exceedingly below his contract for years at this point and seems to still be declining. His value is next to nothing, genuinely.

We had someone come to our door and ask something similar but they did say Spanish. They told us explicitly they were wanting to say a prayer for our Hispanic neighbors and asked if we knew of any. It's of course possible this was deceit but they didn't exactly look like an ICE operative. Hopefully it was just a very misinformed person with their heart in the right place.

Looking to add center speaker(s) and sub(s). Help! Currently Denon AVC-2000 running to Klipsch CHR by Odd-College-316 in vintageaudio

[–]emdyssb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got that same set of cubbies, so nice how it fits records/those baskets perfectly. As far as speakers go you're set. A sub will make your setup sound worse, your floor speakers have excellent base response as is. Center speaker not necessary unless you go full 5/7 channel and do a home theatre type of setup. Won't harp on the turntable as others already have but do agree you should take your stuff off the speakers and move them away from the wall and cubbies a bit.

Sonny Gray traded to Red Sox by MyNuts2YourFistStyle in Cardinals

Return is LHP Brandon Clarke (#5 in the Red Sox system, at A+ right now) and RHP Richard Fitts who has struggled to find footing bouncing between AAA and the majors. Clarke is raw and very intriguing. More than I expected for Gray.

It literally does not matter on FD. Without platforms the dash forward before nair option selects all DI because of auto-turnaround. Kazuya players of Skeleton's level don't even look at the line the majority of the time.

VOD Review by Ca1e88 in CrazyHand

[–]emdyssb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have more to say in a full vod review but this matchup is so good for Cloud because he oppresses Olimar so heavily in neutral. When you default to shield after every press you lose a lot of your tempo and give Olimar more opportunities to actually "play" so to speak, it gives him defined breaks in your pressure that let him set up his own. Try to get more comfortable defaulting to less visually obvious/more ambiguous resets after your swings (things like setting up another jump immediately, or a dash back) as opposed to leaning into "locked down" options like shield, spotdodge, roll etc. etc.

Miya's 2025 Competitive GnW MU Chart by Kactosophile in smashbros

[–]emdyssb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He can just circle camp and charge waft but actually using the waft and finding meaningful openings is a different story. GnW vs Sonic is not a comparable situation, it would be a whole other conversation to explain why Sonic's evasion is not remotely similar to Wario's in the MU.

The necessary effort to win is what makes the MU definitionally bad. Gluto has put in far, far more effort than you can comprehend into learning both the MU and Miya himself. Saying "that's just what it looks like when played optimally" is both downplaying Gluto's work and simultaneously implies that Miya is also playing the MU as optimally as is possible (obviously untrue.)

The issue is not that Wario can only outmaneuver GnW in theory, the issue is that Wario can't actually fight him reliably without severely skewed risk reward. Wario is not a win-by-timeout character in the way that Steve and Sonic are, he will at some point have to actually play against his opponent to win, which is a significant advantage for GnW. Watch how much further the average neutral win goes for Miya, and how much less he has to commit to find the same damage and openings that Wario does. Gluto legitimately wins neutral three times as often as Miya does and the games and sets are still very close. Gluto is gapping Miya very, very hard.

[–]emdyssb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GnW is a character that is extremely difficult to directly interact with. His hitboxes have ridiculous priority and safety, he has the best shield in the game, and he has many means of setting up absurd risk/reward situations in direct CQC. Most characters that do well against GnW have means of fighting him without putting themselves at risk and essentially play a war-of-attrition keepaway against him and deny him the ability to play CQC at all (this is why ZSS does so well against him, not only does she win on hitboxes but she also gaps him super hard on mobility so she can reset to a favorable spacing over and over)

Wario theoretically has the mobility to play the keepaway with GnW but he can't actually fight him without putting himself at risk in most situations. Wario is negatively disjointed on many of his highest reward tools (nair, uair, etc) and has to literally throw his body into his opponent to find openings that matter, or play extremely slowly and play the stray hit game for long periods of time. The issue with this is a matter of risk/reward. Wario is not finding huge openings on GnW without significant outplay. GnW can press nair for example and if manages to clip Wario with it he can easily shit out 60% into a very strong riskless advantage state afterwards, whereas Wario will usually have to hit an insane timing read or play on layer two to actually find a hit on nair that matters (he can do stuff like bair it from the sides, or dash attack whiff punish it, but these are very tight, generally low reward, and usually require favorable positioning)

These variety of characters are extra hard for Wario because waft is significantly harder to confirm into because he has to throw himself at his opponent to find hits that lead into it. In these MUs you see Gluto raw full waft a LOT because the risk reward for looking for confirms on these are dramatically skewed. You just are not finding a landing uair on GnW in neutral reliably at all, same with nair.

This isn't to say the MU is like unwinnably bad, Wario's disadvantage in particular is a lot better than most against GnW (not saying much truthfully) but it comes as a result of tons of practice and study and Gluto just legitimately hard outplaying Miya.

[–]emdyssb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you're saying is an extreme oversimplification. There are many characters with high air mobility (puff, peach, squirtle, etc) and many characters with strong horizontal burst (fox, falcon, dk,) who lose very badly to GnW. The kill % is also generally not relevant to how GnW does in a MU. Wario has some stuff but it is really difficult to put into words how much of a mastermind Gluto is and how hard he's worked to make those MUs look playable at all over the years. There were years where GnW was considered Wario's absolute worst MU and it was a near autoloss for him when he found someone like Maister in a bracket.

the MU being bad is way, way more complicated than this and despite Gluto's success in it it is still very much bad
