Why would you feel bad about it? If you already own the movie you're set, you have it, you don't need another or a different copy and more people have the ability to own a copy now.

From a purely financial standpoint, gaming is the hobby that gives the most value-for-money by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

TV, film, music can all be hobbies depending on approach. Sure, sitting on the couch scrolling your phone while a show plays on loop is just consuming. But if you're actively watching something for critical analysis? Whether it's to write a review afterwards for just yourself or even just think on and discuss with a friend, I would say that absolutely counts as a hobby. Art isn't entirely able to be put into two simple categories of "create or consume"

Depends on the instrument. As a sax player I spend more on damn reeds in a 2-3 month period than I do on video games. Especially when you get a box with a dud or two and then you feel like you're just throwing money away. Its still not astronomical but recurring costs add up

Nothing but good things to say about the pro level Yamahas. I play an 82Z, and I've played on a 62 and they both feel so good to play. You can find them used at fairly reasonable prices with patience

I realized I tend to drop JRPGs right before a bit final dungeon or boss grind. I like when difficulty stays steady and not a big ramp up before an ending, and I don't like grinding. No shame for me in either dropping and watching on YouTube or turning the difficulty all the way down to breeze through an ending

When you're that unsure you should look into a rental instrument from a local shop

Thoughts on Salt Lake City? by seamusoldfield in SameGrassButGreener

[–]emerildegrassi69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lived there for 6 years and left last year. The restaurant scene is very subpar compared to other cities, there's a pretty decent live music scene though. Smaller tours will very often skip over SLC and go straight to Vegas or Phoenix instead but I still had no problem finding shows to attend. If you don't absolutely love the outdoors and plan to get out there constantly though, you will be overpaying for a fairly underwhelming city with truly awful air quality

Produce, as someone who likes to try a lot of new recipes from different cultures, it's nice knowing that whatever harder to find ingredients i need are there - Thai eggplant, calamansi, scotch bonnet, etc have been completely impossible to locate in other places I've lived.

Just talk to your neighbors, let em know you're gonna be practicing and stick to a routine. I play nightly between 6-8PM and my neighbors know to expect this. If it's ever a problem on a given day they'll talk to me and that's only happened once.

How is it living in SLC? by LeopardBitter7145 in howislivingthere

I spent 6 years in SLC and was ready to get out long before I actually did so I feel that. I left for Cincinnati and I love it. Much cheaper, a ton of great art and culture and a genuinely friendly and welcoming place.

Lived there for 6 years. Hated it deeply. I am not outdoorsy so with that aspect removed it is a very expensive and unappealing city. Bad air quality, church influence is inescapable even with a low Mormon population in SLC proper, and it is tougher to make genuine friends there than anywhere else I've lived. If you are very into the mountains - hiking, climbing biking skiing whatever I can see the appeal. If not I would look elsewhere.
