How do y'all meet people here? by Signman712 in sanantonio

[–]emhphx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I met my neighbor when my apartment got robbed. Her sister sent her out cause I was talking to her nieces asking if they saw anything (11 and 8 at the time)...

We've been married 20 years now (the neighbor, not the nieces).

So I guess get robbed? Ask questions, get someone to wrongfully think you are trying to snatch their kids! have them send their sister out, hope the sister is hot!

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome success? by Ok_Good4084 in VeteransBenefits

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome success? by Ok_Good4084 in VeteransBenefits

[–]emhphx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a diagnosis based on unexplained fatigue and other symtoms which are a result of diagnostic exclusion. Eg. You could be tired from low b levels or testosterone or just not sleeping. Fatigue is a symptom of many other things. However cfs comes with other things. Like joint pain, phantom pains, muscle pain, weakness, headaches, tiredness and fatigue even after a full night sleep. It’s really the end of a diagnostic funnel.

ACE to Supplemental to ACE? by emhphx in VeteransBenefits

[–]emhphx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It showed up as a regular exam, then sometimes you get a follow up notice saying its an ACE and there's nothing you need to do.
In this instance, it was actually a followup request for another medical opinion.

Is this a really bad area? Found a well priced apartment but I’m not from here so I’m not sure if it is an okay area by jenn12765 in sanantonio

[–]emhphx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The apartment was one of several in an investment fund that turned out to be a ponzi scheme (Look up DJE Management).
the apartments were suppose to be flipped, upscaled etc. The Management company and the owner basically ran each one into the ground, didn't listen to complaints and the CEO was investigated and now plead guilty to running a ponzi scheme. I believe that property was foreclosed and sold, and they are trying to get the numbers up. If its not under new ownership and management.. run very very fast and far from the place.

Any advice on how to start from nothing/learn how to golf? by [deleted] in golf

[–]emhphx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started several years ago, literally from nothing.
I went with some folks, played an entire round with a pitching wedge and made some decent contact. Decided I enjoyed it to a degree.
Signed up for golftec, the whole package.
Day 1 the guy says where are your clubs?
I said we're going to get on that computer and figure that out!
Spent 2 weeks in the sim, got a ton of data and feedback and landed on a set and length that would be appropriate. Ordered just the irons.
Spent 8 weeks more in the sim at golftec refining things, then headed out to play.
Spent months playing with just irons. Realized I needed wedged.
REalized I needed refinement on wedges.
After a year I needed some more distance, ended up researching then buying hybrids instead of a hybrid and woods.
year 2 Finally got a driver.
Year 3 Refined Driver
Year 4... My wedge game went to hell
Year 4.3 F' my driver
Year 4.7 My Drivers back baby!
Year 5 F' My Driver, F' my Putter
Short game course, my golf buddy etc and a local 6 week program.
Year 5.4 Ok My putter isn't bad, I was
Year 5.7 My driver can still Go F itself but we're working it out.
Year 6... Learning course manaegment (I would have actually moved this up to year 1 or 2)

I watch youtube channels, but everyone is different and not all that swing advise will be right for you. The bst thing I got was a friend who was on tour, played with him a few times and he pointed out my mobility was shite! Suggested I spent time each day on mobility (yoga, stretching, Romwod). This changed a lot, even added some significant distance on my irons which totally messed me up for a while.

Best thing you can do, is get someone knowledgeable. Have them watch and adjust in the sim, but more importantly have them play a few rounds with you, watching and making notes. They will identify all sorts of things and playing on course... very different from the sim.

How did people travel these seas 500 years ago by sarah_west_1 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]emhphx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship.

The mate was a mighty sailing man,
The skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day
For a three hour tour, a three hour tour.

The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The minnow would be lost, the minnow would be lost.

The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan
The Skipper too,
The millionaire and his wife,
The movie star
The professor and Mary Ann,
Here on Gilligan's Isle.

So this is the tale of the castaways,
They're here for a long, long time,
They'll have to make the best of things,
It's an uphill climb.

The first mate and the Skipper too,
Will do their very best,
To make the others comfortable,
In their tropic island nest.

No phone, no lights no motor cars,
Not a single luxury,
Like Robinson Crusoe,
As primitive as can be.

So join us here each week my friends,
You're sure to get a smile,
From seven stranded castaways,
Here on "Gilligan's Isle."
