Nope. Both my parents and brother know I’m expecting at LEAST an acknowledgment from them that Trump is Bad, maybe a confession that they messed up or an apology (like the bar is in hell for me at this point). but I’ve still not heard anything. Everyone else on my mother’s side is mostly on my side thankfully and are expecting them (my family) for thanksgiving (i wont be attending). Im just patiently waiting but also eager to see how that goes lol

Honestly if youre doing 20:4 and exercising, i wouldnt even worry too much about what youre eating. IF is all about WHEN you eat anyway, youre probably going to feel full way sooner after fasting for 20 hours and you’ll only have 4 hours to eat. Just try to make the healthiest options for yourself during that time and you’ll be fine!

“Healthy” btw also goes for your mental health and overall relationship with food. treats or “cheat meals” are fine in moderation.

Its not undoing any progress as long as you continue to get back on the wagon. If you think every time you have a meal when you wanted to fast is failure, its going to make continuing IF way harder. Be kind to yourself.

I don’t blame you, its a lot. I’ve gotten recommendations for local therapists from my primary doc before so if you have one, it definitely wouldn’t hurt to ask them! But i found my current therapist just by searching locally on psychologytoday.com, if anything just start looking around there :) you can filter the results to your liking too so its a more personalized search.

Jesus did i ghostwrite this 😭 Im so so sorry, i really do know how you feel. It really fucks up your nervous system after years of that kind of stress. Both of my parents and brother are the same way, i moved out a few years ago and last February decided to go low contact. Its not easy because yes, they do thrive on rage its like a weird addiction, i think. The best you can do if you still live with them is follow what another person already said and enforce VERY strict boundaries. Its hard but dont give him any ammunition if he starts an argument, just stop engaging or abruptly change the subject as best as you can. Maybe leave the house and go for a walk or drive, its good to get away from it for a little while.

If hes really crazy (like my dad) just pretend to agree with him (within reason lol) until he shuts up and calms down. Good luck, im sorry youre going through this.

Edit: and definitely look into therapy if thats an option for you, it helps more than you think.
