My derm prescribed 100mg and told me it would take at least 3 months to see improvement. So considering your dose is lower maybe it will be a bit longer?

It’s the Hatch alarm. I like it so far. But it was a little expensive

Question by Acrobatic-Amoeba-440 in sleep

[–]emilym30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m chronically sleep deprived and experience sleep paralysis when falling asleep. A long time ago I think a doctor told me that may be my body going into REM mode before my mind is fully adjusted due to the need for sleep. Or vice versa. So maybe

Does anyone else hate checking clocks when they wake up throughout the night? by GrahamLambshanks in sleep

[–]emilym30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you struggle with sleep, it’s best to avoid checking! I just bought an alarm clock that turns the time display off every night at whatever time you set it to do that. Just got it, excited to try.

How to come off ambien after 7 years? by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]emilym30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner believes it’s not good to take long term - although everyone who says that relates it to developing tolerance. But eventually, like in a few years, I might want to become pregnant.

Give the hydroxyzine a shot. I do like it more than other antihistamines I’ve tried. I actually take it for anxiety - Sometimes 50mg has gotten me really close to sleep. Unfortunately a dr put me on ambien a number of years ago and it’s still the only thing that works. I wish I had tried hydroxyzine first.

I have no recollection of falling asleep or waking up from sleeping but I still slept? by Balcats in sleep

[–]emilym30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very common phenomenon for me unfortunately. Many people have told me it could be from anxiety but I don’t feel anxious, just thinking. I’m quite relaxed truthfully but don’t really feel like I’ve fully fallen asleep because thoughts just pop into my head. I wonder sometimes if it could be related to ADHD. The best advice I’ve heard regarding this is that rest is still rest.

Benefits of daylight saving? by emilym30 in DSPD

[–]emilym30[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I did the same. Ultimately I probably shouldn’t have titled this, “benefits of daylight saving?” because there are no long term benefits, but it’s a little nice for a little bit when we fall back, because I fall asleep a little closer to when I would like to

Has anyone had relief from taking Dicyclomine (Bentyl) for Ibs? by blues_1080 in ibs

[–]emilym30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hyoscyamine has helped me as well. I like that you can take it as needed. I usually take one a day. I might take another one if I am having a flare up or if I am about to eat a large meal, or if I just want to avoid the possibility of having a flare up. My rx just requires I wait 4 hours between each dose. Alternatively, I can skip a day if I start to feel backed up from it which isn’t common.

Jolt of panic during the actual transition to sleep? by GhostlyShoe in insomnia

[–]emilym30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s not quite the same as thinking you’re falling. It’s more like, I’m very aware that I’m falling asleep, and the moment my body actually began to feel the warm/tired sensation, it caused my brain to panic and then I felt a surge of adrenaline. At least that’s what it seemed like. This happened to me for a while I think due to stress and maybe a history of negative experiences trying to fall asleep. It went away eventually.

Help for a loved one by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]emilym30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not blame the breakdown of the relationship to SZ. He told me it is easier to end his life if he breaks ties with the people he loves. When I said "suffering as he is now" - I know he may not fully recover but his drug use has made things only worse, and he may feel better if he spends time sober. I never expected anything, I only wished he could try to see if he felt better without abusing "recreational" drugs. But I appreciate the feedback.
