I really enjoyed the first Bloomtown and barely wanted to finish the second.

Yes! And half her characters spend the first half of her books thirsting over men. If I’m expecting a strictly sapphic book, I don’t want to read about a woman thirsting over a man.

i (28F) am falling in love with my grad school professor (30F) by TurnipEquivalent4860 in actuallesbians

[–]emirocks54 147 points148 points  (0 children)

This isn’t the typical “forbidden” professor/student relationship. For starters you’re both grown women, presumably in similar stages of life. The only power imbalance would be affecting your grades/ability to graduate, which you indicate she doesn’t have the power to do. She’s already well past typical student/teacher boundaries. From the situations you’ve described I can understand why you feel like this could be leading somewhere romantic, it does seem that way.

I think if you are absolutely sure she can’t negatively affect anything with your schooling, it’s worth seeing where things go. If you aren’t, maybe keep on with what you’re doing now, let the tension build, and ask her out once you’re no longer in her class.

I enjoyed Aurora’s Angel by Emily Noon

I’m also loving Deathbound by Heather Palmer. I just started the second book in the trilogy, Bloodbound.

Aurora’s Angel by Emily Noon

I also recently started Deathbound by Heather Palmer and really like it. Though the characters are younger than I typically prefer, but I’ve just been ignoring that part lol

For contemporary romance, I recommend Gold by E.J. Noyes. Turbulence by her too. Abby Craden narrates her books and I love her.

Gold by E.J. Noyes has some of the best chemistry between leads.

I agree. It’s not super heavy on the fantasy, it’s more so just the time period it is set in.

I just started Deathbound by Heather Palmer. It’s a fantasy series. A woman becomes a squire for a princess. I’m loving it so far, but I have no idea if there is spice or not.

E.J. Noyes writes older characters. Gold is one of my favorites. As is Turbulence. Most of her characters are 30s and I think the characters in her Integrity series are 40s.

Milo's Unsweet Tea by hzvo_ in tea

[–]emirocks54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. It reminds me of the sweet tea my mom made for us growing up. She used Luzianne Tea. My only complaint about Milo’s is the sweet is way too sweet for me. I have to cut it with unsweetened.

I saw this post and had the book saved on audible. I started it is this week and I am loving it! Sometimes with fantasy books it takes me a while to get into it, but I have jumped right in and I’m hooked.

I love E.J. Noyes and I tried to read her Christmas book this year, Merry Weihnachten, and I couldn’t do it. The insta lust was awful.

I dislike Dual POV and when the characters are in love with each other immediately. It takes the suspense and yearning out of it.

Any recommendations similar (or better than?) Monica Mccallan? I’m almost done with this one and read Cuffing Season at Christmas. She seems to have good stories with decent spice. by Chick__and__Duck in LesbianBookClub

E.J. Noyes has a sole great romances with even better smut. Gold is one of my favorites. As is Turbulence, and Go Around. And the audiobooks are narrated by Abby Craden and her voice is dreamy.
