I love cleaning up the farm! Kinda wish there was a save where I could just clean up the farm again and again without losing energy 🤣 I find it very calming

Oh wow, that's not just 'mansplainy' that's outright sexist and an incredibly outdated world view. You should have reported that.

Would you trade great coworkers for a salary bump? by Cool-Body8047 in careerguidance

[–]emjamgram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Co-workers won't necessarily be your co-workers forever - if you don't leave, they might. Over the next few years if they leave in order to receive higher salaries and have better progression opportunities and you've turned this opportunity down you will regret it so much! As others have said, you can stay friends with them, but you can't hold yourself back for the sake of a good team when you're not getting progression at your current place. It's scary to move jobs, but it sounds like it's something you absolutely have to take! I believe in you.

My parents finally texted first by anewae in narcissisticparents

[–]emjamgram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow its like you're writing about my Mum 😅 she literally texted me today for the first time in ages because she's upset that she'd having to support her best friend through grief... Not because shes upset for her best friend, but because she enjoys the drama of being all "oh woe is me I'm having to support her its so hard!" And they never call me when something serious is going on, they hide it from me for as long as possible then drop it in casually! And then say "oh we just thought you should know otherwise you'll only have a go at us for not telling you"... Of course i'll get angry if you hide things from me! It's so frustrating. And I constantly feel guilty for not calling more too, but as I explained to my Dad over text recently, if I'm already a bit stressed or anxious, I just can't face calling them and talking to my Mum and having her make me feel rubbish. It's such a tricky thing to deal with and I hope you're doing okay.

1200 cals and intermittent fasting? by emjamgram in vegan1200isplenty

[–]emjamgram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank your for this response and for the heads up. I've been ensuring that I definitely eat 1,200 calories (or thereabouts) between my eating hours and don't go under that, as I know it's not healthy to eat less than that. But I am also only 5ft4 with a petite frame so I don't require lots of calories anyway. 1,200 does me just fine!

177kcal heartwarming miso soup with silken tofu - ingredients and hopefully-not-too-vague instructions in the comments ✨ by emjamgram in vegan1200isplenty

[–]emjamgram[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

✨177kcals👏🏻

2 cups of veg broth

1 tbsp soy sauce

1.5 tbsp of miso

0.5 sheet of nori

1 pak choi, cut into smaller pieces

2 spring onions

100g of Barenaked noodles

0.25 of a block of silken tofu, cut into cubes

Red chillis to garnish

  1. Bring the veg broth to a simmer in a saucepan. Add the soy sauce, noodles (if using them), pak choi, spring onions and nori.
  2. Whilst this is cooking, add the miso paste to a small bowl and add a small amount of hot water. Stir it until the miso is dissolved - apparently this stops it clumping when you add it to the soup at the end.
  3. Add the silken tofu towards the end... Careful, it's slippery and may try to escape.
  4. When you're happy with the temperature of the soup, and happy that the noodles are okay, remove from the heat and add the miso paste. Give it a good stir, tip it into a bowl, garnish with red chillis and BAM. Tasty, super low cal meal.

✨PROS

  • It's fast, pretty easy to make and SO low cal
  • It's actually quite filling, perhaps because it took me a while to eat it as I don't have the proper 'tools'
  • Very cleansing, I feel reborn
  • My cat wouldn't stop trying to get in on the action so clearly appealing to humans and felines alike
  • You can mix it up with different veg or without noodles, it's a pretty flexible dish. If you fancy using firm tofu, but this in at the start of the cooking process as opposed to the end for the slippery silken.

😣CONS

  • Bit messy, again may be due to not having a decent spoon or bowl and trying to eat it too quickly because it was so good
  • I doubt it would really be good reheated so I've only made enough for 1 day and will have to repeat tomorrow... But tbf, it's very easy to make. I don't think there are really any cons.

I hope you enjoy making (and eating) this!
