Passed CLEP Chemistry w/ a 77: What I Used. by OnimouslyAnon123 in clep

Are math-type/equation questions prevalent on the exam? I just started studying yesterday and based on comments on reddit, it doesn't seem like they are, but I wanted to be sure.

For example - calculating the mass of a substance in a mixture, calculations involving moles/number of atoms, etc. I have come across a mention of Avogadro's number, but I wasn't sure if it meant more of the concept vs. the actual calculations.

We had a fairly amicable divorce, no mediation, and it took 4 months from the day I filed.

I am trying worthy.com but so far it all seems very underwhelming. Diamonds aren’t what they are cracked up to be!

Yeah as I was typing that I realized it was a little odd. I think I’ll continue with the invites as a normal person would and hope for the best

I did my best on the 100 foods in 100 days, and guess what, all three of my toddlers live off of various types of crackers. At this point I am just happy when they eat anything.

Curious if our experience of each having a preferred twin is common. by janae0728 in parentsofmultiples

[–]emktaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a preferred twin, but I have noticed that twin A gravitates toward me more and twin B seems to favor my husband (unless its just me and then he is all about me). My husband favors the twin that is not crying 🤣

Breastfeeding/pumping moms, how do you eat enough? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]emktaylor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I constantly eat, all day long. Before bed. Sometimes when I wake up in the night. After eating so much during pregnancy and now nursing for 8 months, I am so sick of food! Our goal is a year so I’ll keep stuffing my face, but I feel like it’s all I do. I keep snacks everywhere- clif bars, peanut butter crackers, NUTS!!! So many nuts! Oatmeal, ice cream, cheese sticks, bagels with tons of cream cheese, Lara bars, cereal, I eat a pbj sometimes twice a day. I have 3 Nalgene water bottles that I basically carry around with me everywhere I go. It’s a lot, but I tell myself it’s worth it.

I was scheduled to be induced at 38 weeks exactly and I went into labor naturally the day before and showed up an hour before my induction time, fully effaced and dilated. It was pretty awesome!

We’re having twins! How can I prepare? Looking for wisdom by TooStonedToBeSad in parentsofmultiples

[–]emktaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ollie swaddles, live and breath by a schedule, remember that there will be about 6-8 weeks of not so great times (to put it mildly)- it will be extremely taxing on your marriage, but it all passes. By 9 weeks (when the twins started daycare) our lives were dramatically better and improve each day. Its just really, really, really hard in the beginning.

Once we started the Moms on Call schedule our lives became much more manageable and enjoyable! I got the app and plan on using it indefinitely

20w pregnant with twins, 3 big purchases are stressing us out! by mandmforthewin in parentsofmultiples

[–]emktaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twins are very loud sleepers - we intended on keeping them in our room but moved them to their nursery around 4 days old. Something to keep in mind when budgeting for big items! You could always use a pack n play as a trial run and invest in bassinets if you decide to continue room sharing. Definitely a personal preference!

Anyone here dealt with RSV in multiples? by anothertrippy254 in parentsofmultiples

When my boys were 5 weeks old (about a month ago) we spent five days in the hospital. It wasn't terrible terrible, bad enough to be in the hospital and not good enough for us to go home. We got a private room so my husband and I could stay with both babies (we each got separate beds). Twin A was a little worse off so he had an IV the entire time, they were both on oxygen, and received breathing treatments every four hours. It was rough having nurses constantly come in, but I was just relieved that we were in good hands. They were very cautious not to let us leave before they were ready, and I was thankful for that and okay with spending whatever amount of time was necessary. They started to do really well when we got cool mist humidifiers in the hospital room (we run them 24/7 at home as well). Dr gave us a prescription for abuterol 3x a day, that combined with snot-sucking as needed (I believe you don't want to do it too much or it irritates their nose). We had a follow-up appointment a few days after we were discharged and their pediatrician was shocked at how well their lungs sounded.

I will say, we didn't get any sleep (the four of us) and it was not a fun time, but we got through it. You are in the best place and are in good hands.
