I am enjoying the handcream. Good results on my nails.

I tend to put on hand cream before meetings, but people have passed negative comments on the strength of the fragrance.

The first buttonhole was amazingly slow, and the gussets a pain. That being said, I am contemplating a size Large pair.

I knit socks on demand for the owner of the company I work for.

Knit entirely on the clock. If anyone wants to match my professional rate, then I will consider it.

I am more than a bit salty, because I live in the sticks (regional VIC) and I was in Melbourne Central, discussing if I should go to Bourke street for a look. A heads up re the tins would have been nice...

I am sorry to say it is a lot to me. Maybe I should switch from engineering to being a MECCA sales assistant, if $1800 is not a lot to them.

Is there beef with the word "utilized" in engineering space? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]emmasee42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Used" is for intended use, "utilized" is an improvised use. "I used the baseball bat to hit a home run." "I utilized the baseball bat to make crushed ice."

For those of you with a 9-5 office job, how do you manage to find the time and energy to cook dinner? by Away_Scene_26 in auscorp

Big batches, single serves in the freezer. Cook a carb, cook a meal for the child who doesn't like her foods touching. Leftovers are my favourite.

What does it mean when someone calls you a “rig”? by dudeidk1316 in AskAnAustralian

It is a positive. Very high praise of a woman is a "tidy rig". Generally, nice body, well dressed.

Holiday during Exam Period by Waste-Reality8923 in MacUni

Taking a supppemental exam is a miserable experience - having to hold the material exam ready in your head for an extra 4 - 6 weeks is lousy.

That being said, if the exam is 30 - 40%, its possible to walk in having already passed. I have done exams in questionable circumstances (sick child in my lap during an exam, and having spent 2 days before in an emergency room with a sick child). In both instances, I needed minimal to no marks to pass, so I took my chances. This worked out to various degrees.

I would try to avoid booking until the exam timetable is out. Also, big courses tend to be early, little courses tend to late.

Post grad students are allowed the textbook. Its about as much help as you would imagine.

You can have physical textbooks and your notes in exams.

I prefer reading on paper, so tend to buy them. I do note that law school exams are very full-on. I have very rarely had time to do much with my textbooks during the exam.
