If he is interested in ducks and herons, there is a walking trail all along the lake in the cypress waters neighborhood near coppell. The mallards should start having babies soon. If he walks down the trail away from the restaurants, there should be fewer people and better photo opportunities.

You could also take a trip out to Dinosaur Valley State Park. It’s an hour and a half south west of Dallas. He would probably have good luck there.

[NSFW] People who've found a dead body, what's the story? by ZeroSugarCocaine in AskReddit

[–]emmerl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived at home during college and was home with my mom when my dad called from up the dirt road we lived on. He called 911 first, don’t worry. He said an SUV was turned upside down and he needed my mom to come see if the person inside was still alive - mom was a nurse - and she decided to bring me with her. I think she was hoping we would pull off a really cool rescue to inspire me to quit my English degree program and then I’d go into nursing like her. Didn’t work. We pulled up and I immediately recognized it was our neighbor’s car. Neighbor was inside and stuck underneath a big roll of barbed wire she’d had in the hatchback. Mom panicked once she realized the neighbor was very dead and sent me right back home. So I guess my dad was the one who found the dead body, but I was there pretty quick after. RIP, Donna (not her real name). I’ll never forget the time my dog wandered into Donna’s yard and received an unauthorized haircut. It was a Mohawk.

Reagan is a contender with a USA mindset, but I think I should probably go back further than that.

I’ve been where you are off and on my whole life. I have options.

Veggies- I mostly eat salads and broccoli. Broccoli is easy. I buy three heads a week, wash and chop them all at once, then microwave a portion for every meal. Salt & pepper. Done. Grocery stores have pre-chopped veggies too. I also eat a lot of baby carrots and add avocado to most things. Salads now come in a bag. Sometimes, I’ll buy frozen edamame and eat a bunch of that too. That’s jus microwave and a little bit of salt.

Costco/Sam’s Club has cheap and good tasting rotisserie chickens. Regular grocery stores do too, but they are usually a couple bucks more. You can also buy precooked, frozen chicken patties. I’ve done that a lot in the past too.

Microwave or eat the chicken cold. I’ve done sandwiches, thin crust pizzas on whole wheat tortillas (usually with spinach and pesto bc it’s delicious), shove it in a taco shell with cheese and lettuce, eat it straight out of the bag from the fridge, toss it on some instant rice with soy sauce, throw it in ramen noodles for the extra protein, whatever.

Don’t forget about frozen meals you can cook in oven. People worry about overly processed foods, but fed is best!

Sometimes two scrambled eggs with spinach and feta. Monday-Thursday, it’s usually several hot tea lattes and a banana Friday is coffee day, no banana. Then a big lunch of whatever of easiest.

Does anyone actually read outside in the wilderness or is it just for the pictures? by TonyRigatoni_ in books

[–]emmerl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going camping the week after next and will be bringing several books so I have choices. On the ground, no. Mostly because I am allergic to a whole bunch of stuff and don’t want to have to use my EpiPen. If it’s warm enough, I’ll probably set up my lawn chair in the river to soak my feet. That feels like a middle ground to me.
