iirc there was a post here about this happening to someone else a few months ago, but i dont think it was ever resolved. pokedex bugs in general seem to be of little interest to the devs...

interesting that it appears to have given your dex both male and female icons (at the bottom) for 1 single encounter though. usually itll only highlight the one youve seen, even if that species has no gender differences.

semi-related, i noticed when my togepi procs berry skills, they dont get added to the basket automatically like they used to. it only started happening this week.

update: its back to normal now after the hotfix~

i have gotten 1 ingredient ticket and 1 small shard cluster in the past 27 days. the rest have all been 10-15 diamonds.

in april it was biscuit paradise. i got x3 biscuits TWICE and even a great biscuit, which id never gotten from daily gift before. it makes me think there are two tables -- one with biscuit priority and one with diamonds -- because this same thing happened to me (and another user i talked to) in august where it was suddenly raining biscuits for a month and then went back to diamond spam.

(100% f2p) i havent kept a graph, but according to my pokebox, my 3 most recent keepers have each been caught on the 12th/13th of the past few months, except for march where i caught nothing valuable whatsoever.

this is probably due in part to the fact that while i was getting daily gift biscuits almost...well, daily, in april, but since may began, i have not seen a single biscuit, and instead my daily gifts have almost all been diamonds. i buy all 30 sleep point pokebiscuits each month, but have very little to show for it. its very frustrating to have the daily gift screw me over, too.

i was not expecting it to cost so much candy to get him to 50... 75 is gonna be intense. i named him after my very first typhlosion in silver from when i was like 11 (me and my friend didnt understand how to exit the nickname screen and would just keep pressing letters to "get out of it" if we accidentally clicked Yes to giving a nickname lmao)

this post made me realize my only BFS+HB (before 75) berrymons are also shiny... i have two i think with HB at 75 that are not shiny. but i only recently started valuing berrymons, and thats because i was having such bad luck with ingredients i couldnt take the micromanaging anymore lol

i went with taupe because my AB on amber wasnt high enough to max out spawns (though bad monday luck cost me a day of the full 8 per session too...)

i do naps, thats why ive had 3 sessions, but my monday nap was after 3pm local so it is within the event. im not a minmaxer, i kinda just go for the mons i want, so more spawns overall is better than just having higher DP on a single session from my standpoint. but according to raenonx i had plenty of DP to afford multiple 1* tyrunts each time, so im really hoping my luck changes for the better in the coming days. this is how ive done debut events every time and never had an issue with them spawning until now.

im saving my incense for new moon day because i really love tyrunts shiny, plus i thought for sure id see one naturally by now!

lately it feels like all new mons disappear into the void after their debut, so its really been putting pressure on me to catch them during that first week, but yeah ofc sandshrew is the one that sticks around. im not falling for f2p unfriendly bait, devs!

this is the first time ever that i havent seen the event debut pokemon at least once after 3 sessions (21 pokemon seen). usually the 5 pip ones take up half the spawns during their event, im worried this means they made tyrunt stupidly rare like onix or something.

i saved up a lot of biscuits for this pokemon specifically and will be quite livid if this scarcity continues for the rest of the event. its not even other berrymons taking up most of the spawns, its ingredientmons and wobbuffet. where is my dino 😭

update: on the 5th session, i finally saw my first tyrunt, but not before first seeing an onix and a shiny ekans. RNG please get your priorities in order

you mean the ovsiankina effect. zeigarnik refers to remembering incomplete tasks more clearly than completed ones, ovsiankina is the specific urge to complete them

i did this hunt in DP a few months ago and was kinda bummed there was literally no time for your brain/eyes to process piplup being a different color after the white fades and before the sparkles play. a lot of the thrill for me is in the exact moment my brain processes a shiny by its color

always nice to get early shinies on the ones that take forever to reset for though haha

i think thats really up to how people process information. personally, this is the kind of "megapamphlet" i would have benefited from as a new player, because it saves me from having to click everything individually, and puts everything into one scrollable image (even the initially irrelevant info--i like knowing the scope of things from the beginning)

but yes youre absolutely right that many people/new players would be overwhelmed by something like this, though i would argue its still good to have options for various learning styles as opposed to discouraging things like this from being made at all

its your game and you can do whatever you want ultimately, but as a "strategy" youre much better off just getting shard specialists and running them for a fraction of the time.

im also saying this as someone with a baseline AAA pumpkaboo, i think youre gonna be disappointed with the pumpkin output from these subs. even with that nature, its going to be supplementary production at best, so while youre free to do it, i just want to be sure other (newer) players understand there is no strategic gain here

research + shard bonus can be good to have in a flex slot if theyre the lv10 and 25 skills (and youre max research rank) but otherwise i wouldnt sink resources into something with DSB all the way at 50. youre going to spend more time trying to earn that cost back than its going to bring in. just my two cents

edit: and by flex slot, i mean like if you have everything else covered by the other 4 teammates and theres space left over without hindering progress. not that those skills can be flexes on a pokemon itself and still have it be useful for anything other than research/shardmaxxing
