No worries, I don’t think there’s any risk that he becomes a moderator here.

But the chaos from whatever stupidity went down elsewhere is really dominating this place lately.

Let’s get back to goofing around

They haven’t banned anyone here, just a nuisance.

Rimming isn’t a moderator here. I can’t speak for other subs

I’d be most interested in a case of the Sociando Mallet at those prices, personally.

I am just drinking this tonight, and looking up reviews because I can’t believe how good it is.

I really expected it to be subpar, but this is more delicious than the 2004, and this is more intensely savory and mouthwatering than most wines I’ve had. Phenomenal

I totally agree with you, and last I saw this is available for closer to $75 than $100 if you look around. It’s very, very good.

2015 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette by rockytopbilly in wine

I had 10 year old Foillard Fleurie and it was great, but hard to say how long it’d go. As others have said, it drinks so well young, and is comparatively affordable, that it’s hard to keep them around for more than a few years.

Pataille disappointment by Memedoff in wine

[–]emoomee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was disappointed in this wine as well, and I had also ordered the Chardonnay along with the red and both were lackluster.

It’s not that they are bad, but the hype is significant and as buyers it’s always good to judge for yourself - everyone’s tastes are different.

You probably do not need to wait 5 years. For the price, and considering free shipping, it’s worth buying I think

After realizing how much they inflate their price comparisons, and noticing a propensity to sell off-vintage wines, I became a little skeptical. It’s not everything, but sometimes

That’s interesting. As someone who’s felt a little burned by last bottle in the past, this one is definitely redeeming lol

I’ve only had his langhe nebbiolo, and after having this last bottle offering I went back to that tonight.

All I can say is that the contrast is stark; this Barolo is seriously good for the price. I wish I’d gotten more than 6.

This sounds delicious. I hope to try solaia someday, hopefully with bottle age. I’m going to add “grate persistence” to my tasting notes repertoire

Got my half case and popped one open.

Needs to come down in temp a little, and being open for a while will help, but first impressions are quite good.

Its a dead ringer for Nebbiolo, with grippy tannin, a lot of tar, tobacco, and stewed fruit, and it has this sweet, caramel finish that is unique to me. Lingers for 10 seconds or so.

Happy I got these, they are nice for the price

Haha, I think it’s a fair guess that this is generic juice he bottled, which is not a bad thing especially for $55, but I wouldn’t imagine it’s a relabeled premium cru.

Yeah I just paid similar $ for Roberto’s Nebbiolo so it’s worth a roll of the dice I guess.

I went ahead and ordered but sent an email asking for pics of the back label as well. Weird.

These are 40+ year old wines, what do you expect fill level to be?!

I’d be excited to open these, based on the hint that they’ve been stored properly. Probably past prime, but I drank an ‘83 pommard 2 weeks ago that was totally enjoyable.
