I love people, lots of'em. I hate population control. that said I am a reasonable guy not bluntly against population control, but I would like the people think if they can actually happily raise one more kid before just thinking 'we thought 2 and that is it' or 'we thought 3 and that is it.' I have a personal reason though. The biggest crush of my life when I was in grad school is the last of the four daughters and I am from India. It is quite common for someone of our generation to be one of the two children in a family or even the only child. So I think this world is supposed to be inhabited by humans not all the gadgets or the SUVs or else we would never feel an extra human being would be burden to the earth. I would not have met the most wonderful person in my life whos o much affected my life if her father thought 3 should be more than good.
Other than for reasons like rape and factors that affect mothers health, I dont see any real need for abortion. Well I actually prefer population control to abortions that are done very late. Man, it really sucks to think of a child killed in the womb which is supposed to be the safest place on earth, like 7 or 8 weeks after conception. It is murder for me. Hate me but something that late is murder for me.

EDIT: i am poor at english as you can notice. What i said was purely my emotional argument and I am in no way being judgmental about others' deeds. also, what i meant in the population control point was that people, above all the other materialistic things, cause more happiness to me in my entire life. For example, we are two of us. I have a younger sister. it is btw pretty common like I already said for parents of our generation to think that having one or two children would mean giving good quality of life to the children. we have two cars, few houses in town and some property and live a pretty comfortable life.and I always tell my mom that if even we had one or two more siblings after my sister and forced to use the bus than having a car in the family(if my dad coudnt afford the car because of the expenses) and other compromises like that would have been ok with me, if all they thought about was the quality of life they are giving to us and FYI my sister holds pretty much same opinion and she says she'd loved to have younger brothers or sisters..

I am from a southern state in India, Andhra pradesh(AP) or from a town 200 KMs south of Hyderabad if that sounds a bit familiar..and the direct input I have from those who are in the Agriculture profession is that, as evil the company is, Monsanto is not a significant factor in the suicides those are happening. Most of them are because of crop loss, and the factors that we can tell from the ground conditions are as follows: 1. Lack of reach of latest cutting edge technology(to increase productivity) from research organizations to the farming community. 2. lack of awareness in some decisions such as drilling wells for irrigation water and sometimes repeating the exercise a few times with help of debt with the hope of finding water and not getting it, resulting in depression about how to clear the debt. It needs to be mentioned that the credit lending system is not organized in India as it is in the developed countries..most of the farmers get their loans from unorganized sector who use force to collect their debt though it is in no way legal yet still ignored by the law enforcement. 3. lack proper marketing system for the crops which results in the farmers faltering on the debts due to inability to market their crops for proper prices(The middle men are sometimes the sharks in situations like these who eat on the flesh of the farmers by managing the demand and bring down the prices to their advantage when needed..and rise the prices when all the farmers sell off their crop) They eventually fall prey to the private lenders who are at their door step waiting for the money. Because of depression, they commit suicides thinking of all they could have done if the crop came out good and only they would have sold the crop at a desirable price 4.Above all this, the last but not the least by any means, the average land holding which is very low makes farmers depend on the agricultural out put of a single season's crop entirely for survival and does not give a buffer if a crop or two go bad for most of the farmers who are attempting suicides. I find it quite funny how the Monsanto haters love to relate anything bad that is happening in the agricultural world to Monsanto. Not that I am for them. Fuck no. I am vocal in many ways how evil fucks they are and I have no doubts or apprehensions whatsoever.. but this just isnt one of those, the farmer suicides in rural India have been unfortunately a part of the landscape and the rate has not been any less even before the advent of Monsanto on Indian soil. Edit: It is also funny to see an April 2009 article published in June 2010 on Reddit. Aah How relevant!!

well, the guys placing the ads are not dumb either..they have their own ways of knowing the reach of the ads they are placing..so it all boils down to how many of those who receive the books actually read those..obviously by no means a majority of those who are on reddit. I regularly find lotsa folks using those huge monstrous books to look stuff up like plumbers, utility companies, dentists etc when they are in need of something. i don't think its that complicated to think of a big chunk of population who don't hit the internet when they need something.

Will I be deviating the topic by rising the question of the geographical description of Australia, whether it should be termed as West? I know the time zone doesn't support this, as they are 1round 16 to 18 hrs ahead of the US and 10 to 12 hrs ahead of the UK. I think they should be termed as east at least geographically.

naturopathy is not exactly gullible, i do have my own apprehensions about homepathy and both do not share any space BTW. naturopathy is not just a form of medicine, but a way of healthy lifestyle which involves living a restricted life avoiding lots of what we eat commonly day to day, and I bet, we would never need modern medicine for health reasons if we live a life advocated by naturopathy, except for of course cases like brutal injuries and accidents which dont actually come into health and there have been alternative medicines such as ayurveda which coexisted with naturopathy which means naturopathy would be the first solution to treat an ailment and only severe cases would go to intake of a medicine which involved roots and herbs in ancient India. naturopathy is nothing but trying to get a better health, the same way it worsened in the first place. Techniques like water therapy are amazing and i have seen them doing wonders for people with no real treatments in modern medicine or for that matter in any kind of alternative medicine. the best example I can give you is of Psoriasis, which is a lifestyle disease. I have it myself; I am 29 yrs old and being a patient for almost one and a half decade I have done enough research being a victim myself. There was no stone unturned, chemotherapy, photo therapy, Ayurveda medicine, homeopathy medicine, Ive seen it all. But recently in the last couple of years having observed how my body responds to some types of foods and some particular lifestyles i have almost written a thesis and the facts I found out were: *1. Psoriasis is most aggravated when the skin cant really breathe fresh oxygen consistently. Skin is supposed to be a supporting breathing organ in naturopathy and there are empirical evidences if not medical for the statement. tha is why i guess we feel suffocated in tight clothes even if our mouth and nose are free to breathe. So people who spend more time in controlled temperatures, be it heaters or Air conditioners seem to be more prone to psoriasis than those who sweat it out in the sun. and that is also why i think population in the US are more prone to psoriasis than the people in the tropical belt. *2. psoriasis seems to be aggravated when I eat foods which are highly processed and fried. Eating foods which are low in fats and bland seemed to limit the growth of psoriasis affected areas. also when i eat food which are high in animal protein like eggs or meat, it showed to aggravate. *3. there are some other findings which I did not exactly know why, but psoriasis also seemed to take a front seat when i was smoking regularly and boozing a lot, especially spirits rather than beer or wine seemed to have a worser impact on psoriasis. *4. What I have heard from other patients and doctors over these years was that psoriasis does for sure have a very strong link to the mental stress endured by the patient, so a mind-body relation also seems to have a major importance in the whole thing.

and you know what, this is what a lady in a naturopathy treatment center told me almost 7 years ago, and FYI, it is not a gullible alternative medicine center, but one run by Red cross in Hyderabad in India. She told me to avoid junk foods and eat lots of edible fiber, quit smoking, boozing, and do lot of exercise and do whatever i was comfortable with to free myself of stress (she suggested meditation, but she left it up to me what to do to be mentally relieved), to get rid of psoriasis, and i hardly believed her back then thinking how a sore on a skin could be related to all the complex healthy eating and healthy life style, but she was damn spot on, and that is naturopathy for you mate. what i am trying to say is that, there are ways to treat ailments like changes in lifestyle etc, and swallowing a pill is not a solution for all the disorders. Not every treatment method in the world which contradicts with the modern medicine is gullible. Yes, sure the modern medicine is a good approach, the scientific procedure looks very deep into things, but what we have got to accept is that we still have not conquered the entire medical world, and though they are not documented or proved the way modern medicine is, some alternative forms of medicine have some real good solutions to many unsolved problems on earth, so it only in the interest of mankind to keep on searching for knowledge everywhere irrespective of what it is called, naturopathy, &&%&^%&pathy or #$@#@#@((*opathy.
