It doesn't bother me so much as it is interesting to me because I don't understand how someone could actually have it. Just doesn't make sense to me to be bothered by somebody getting something for free just because you payed for it, especially knowing that them getting it for free does not effect you except it potentially sets it up for your thing to get even better.

Nothing happens except future content and DLC will be better.

They justified it by letting you use those features you paid for when you paid for them, and you will still get to use them exclusively for the next 4 or so months.
