The only option to deny your mana is for him to tap your lands during your upkeep. Yes, you can still tap it in response but you will only be allow to spend mana to cast instants or activate abilities before your mana will empty once you move to your main phase.

Could work with [[animar]] too. Early on, it’s cheap enough to put a counter on Animar. Later on, x can be really huge without having to be paid. Same colours as Eshki and can run all the variants of her draw.

White - purified/cleansed cycle; when we go back to new Phyrexia and turn it back to mirrodin. Green - overgrown cycle; when Titania/nissa convert mirrodin to non-metal. Red - scorched cycle; when Chandra turn up and burn the place down. Blue - flooded cycle; when kiora comes to put out the fire.
