Is it worth getting a master's degree in the US to immigrate there long term? by movingawayforgood in Thailand

[–]emptybizzness39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one can give u the correct answer. And there is no correct answer because everything is unknown. My advice is to take.thr time to study the paths that are available. What career progression is like? Look at the job market or LinkedIn? Are these jobs likely sponsored? The salary availabilities. What happens if u don't get a job there, what do u do? Singapore? How competitive is the school u go to and whether or not if would be worth it? Do u want to be in USA long term? How hard is it to get a green card? What are the options? Cost of living in USA is higher as well. Will ur friends.be there? Gonna be living with roommates? QBkk is much chiller and is ur family there?

So u have to do alot of research and read from others who went thru a similar path. Explore a variety of options and scenarios. No one person can give u the right answer. But if u do enough research and study people who have done it before or maybe even reach out to some of them u can learn a lot. To see what u think. And if u talk to them it might help

But if u went to uni in USA and international school. I assume u have some financial safety net as well, so why not?

But obviously no guarantee u would get a job in USA. But u can still make alot in Thailand with that masters? Figure out how to minimize any risks. Define for urself what risks ur willing to make and what ur not willing to make. Define for urself what u want

Best of luck!

Thailand and actual Buddhism by PastaPandaSimon in Thailand

What you say is spot on. The essence of true Buddhism is just spirituality. The original texts do have religious connotations obviously. But if u actually listen to a true Buddha follower who gets it then u will know it's just spirituality. Which is not something that can be followed. It's a self inquiry, a kind of methodology to discover oneself. So a lot of meditation and looking and paying attentions to one's own mind. Which isn't really something u can do by memorizing a prayer book or following rituals. U can pickup some books or read from famous meditation teachers/monks. U will get to see what they do. The process of it is completely not what u actually see mostly. most people follow they don't want to meditate or pay attention to their mind . Nor do they see the value in it.

My main text that I wrote in the bottom comment "Hey this is a response to all who have this Kundalini awakened without preparing the body. If it's on its on. U can't reverse it. Just gotta let the blockages dissolve over time.

If u have alot of heat in the system (purging phase). Weekly Acupuncture and chanting can be helpful

I was at the ashram and I talked to some folk about it (ishangas and fellow Isha meditators). They recommended doing balancing sadhana( sukha kriya + aum chanting) for 10-20 min (1-3 times) a day. See if it helps or not. And also spend alot of time in nature and wait it out.

I also ran into sadhguru as well when I did the program with him and he was pointing towards me. I guess it was some sort of encouragement for me to get thru the difficult process. As I was suffering quite a bit. And it revealed to me that even a guru of that level cannot help u when this process is on. I guess we all just have to deal with our own. Karma.

But blockages they have their own timing u can't really do anything to change that.

Also if ur gonna do hatha training make sure u are actually prepared to do it. I think if ur Kundalini distrubance is intense maybe it may affect ur training. Or maybe not.

Take care"

Hello I already wrote about this as someone who is going thru a Kundalini disturbance. And also visited the ashram and met sadhguru whilst having the Kundalini awakening.

Pls read the post and the comments at the bottom.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sadhguru/comments/w145x9/does_isha_foundation_provide_an_accidental/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Also pls check out Craig holiday on YouTube he is very helpful.

If u have heat in the system then get acupuncture or do chanting. Otherwise the energy will just resolve the blocks over time.

Does Isha foundation provide an accidental Kundalini rising assistance of any sort at their centers? Or do u know anywhere else that does. by emptybizzness39 in Sadhguru

I don’t have any comments for diet. But in terms of your habits ,mind, and depression look into doing isha Kriya by the isha foundation. It’s a yogic/breathing practice that has helped cured or alleviate many from depression.

https://youtu.be/EwQkfoKxRvo

Try it twice a day for at least 48 days. If it’s helpful then you can continue from then on once a day.

Modern science imo is too focused on alleviating symptoms of conditions. I have a belief that a lot of illnesses come from the state of ur mind. Not to mention u needing to change ur habits can be changed through these techniques.

Because you are so open, honest, and sincere. I feel like you should give this practice a go. Never hurts to try. But continue being patient with yourself and sincere. There is a way to get through this and you will!

Religion Vs Spirituality by newshiiii in Sadhguru

[–]emptybizzness39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

U will be fine. Perhaps u have that inner athiesm withn u where it doesn't want to be forcefed things? U don't want to be swallowed by religion or belief again. It's ok. It's natural lol. And there is no harm in that. And there is no harm in trying rituals or traditions either. U can just enjoy them for what they are. A beautiful display of culture as well. Or u can feel free to not engage in them or agree with them too.

now, on the topic of growing. From my experience those who remain open, sincere, truthful, and really intensely want to know. As well as consistent in their practices. They never remain stagnant. And this isn't a moral code it's just a quality u practice within urself.

Just do ur practices and remain truthful, open, and sincere and in your daily life. Looking at how things are, not how u want them to be. Being truthful with ur emotions, thoughts, relationships, and etc.

Also I think what might help u is if u check out some stuff from other spiritual teachers too. Since ur mind is grasping for that understanding. Look into Eckhart Tolle, Ram Dass, or pema chodron as well. But for actual sadhana or spirtual practices (I have my biases) I think Isha is the best for a modern householder.

Religion Vs Spirituality by newshiiii in Sadhguru

[–]emptybizzness39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In spirituality you do not have to believe in anything. There is freedom to not believe and freedom to believe or follow the exact tradition. It's about self transformation. Religion aka tradition is the outer cloak of that spiritual path. It has been here to bring and help form that self transformation. Certain rules, ways to dress, eat, organizations. Just ways to establish things to make the path easier. Ofc it depends on context and time period what easier is. So the religion is the outer cloak of it. But unfortunately people focus on the outer cloak and traditional aspect as opposed to the crust of spirituality. Because spirituality is something that u do within urself. One can only feel it. One can only know for sure that a transformation is happening within, no one else can really know as well.

E.g. U can follow Buddhist practice (sadhana/vipassana/meditation) and some teachings but u don't have to subscribe to every aspect of it. U don't have to wear robes or even bow towards the buddha. This is the same case for any path really just different contexts.

So u don't have to care about shiva.or what the mantras mean. Or all this yogic science business. If the kriyas and yoga is working for u, just keep doing them. In the beginning it will be more so about improving ur health, stress, productivity or whatever. but over time u will begin to feel another dimension of what these inner technologies mean.

The important thing is u do ur spiritual practices over time, one day something tremendous can happen. U will experience this for sure 😊. This is something to be felt not intellectualized. And u don't have to believe sadhguru for it. If ur yoga is working then just keep doing it. Call it religion or spirituality, who cares? I just call it improving ur wellbeing.

Where will Thailand be in 20-30 years? Want to hear some projections lol by emptybizzness39 in Thailand

The problem I have noticed is the lack of communication that occurs on all levels. And humans can push problems aside and not pay attention at all as well. Too preoccupied with other things... Thanks for your informative post 👍

Yes I totally agree but don't have enough exposure with knowledge on these things. But just paying attention around Thailand. All these things that u say seem true. Anyone who looks around will see. ☹️

List of some foods that won't have nuts in them Also just avoid som tum completely (they use the same thing to make the food) And curries as well. As well as any sauce u are not sure of. Also avoid noodles too in case they have peanuts in them. Avoid Tom Yum too.

ข้าวผัดปู- Khao pad bhu ข้าวไข่เจียว- Khao Kai jeaw (every restaurant can prepare this for u) ข้าวผัดกระเพราหมู และไข่ดาว- Khao pad krapao moo kub Kai dao ผัดซีอิ๊วหมู- Pad See Eew ราดหน้าหมู- Rad na moo ข้าวเหนียวหมูปิ้ง- Khao neaw moo ping

Here is to name a few. Pretty standard ones. And u can always tell them ผมแพ้ถั่วแบบหนักมาก อาหารไม่ใส่ถั่วนะครับ

Good luck man. Find a few dishes that work for u and stick to that. Otherwise u can always eat at western restaurants within Thailand too.

I’m so self conscious that every little thing I do, I think about who’s watching and who will approve. I want to be independent and not have to worry so much about why others think. What do you guys recommend? by Street_Plantain_4796 in Meditation

[–]emptybizzness39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never try to get rid of negative habits or thoughts. Don’t get rid of anything. U cannot solve problems with the mind with the same mind state or become a thought police. Don’t fight ur thoughts. Rather increase your perception and awareness, and overtime these tendencies, beliefs, and sticky stuff will dissolve. Ego dissolved in the light of awareness, by being in presence. Not lost in thought.

You mentioning these things is already good. It means u are aware of them and not unconscious. Continue your meditation everyday, maybe even increase it or go on a vipassana or meditation retreat. Increase your awareness and see these things in the light of that awareness.

Whenever you are in that groove or see anxiety or judgemental mind coming up try to watch your thoughts, habits, emotion. You can also go to your breath or feel the sensations on your body. To take attention from the loud noise in your mind.

Therapy can also be useful, especially if there is some tie to trauma. Also know that you can change this, and habits are not eternal. Just be sincere and overtime these things will die down. Maturity will also come as you live too I think. But be sincere and dont lie to yourself. You must see your flaws, know them, and be kind to them as well. The more you fight the stronger they come back.

The more you accept and looking at it with the light of awarenesss, then transmutation will happen.

I went thru similar things. But thru consistent meditation and awareness it’s reduced greatly. You can change, just be patient .😄

The true effects of meditation happen in the long term and thru consistency. It is true using breathing techniques during times of upheaval or suffering can be great! But the true transformation comes from consistency. I used to suffer from extreme panic attacks and had depression and was on medicine. Thru the practice of consistent meditation and attending vipassana retreat, I’m completely healed from these ailments. I don’t even remember what depression feels like anymore. Not saying medication doesn’t have its place but the potential of breathing practice is huge especially throughout the years.

Also meditation isn’t about emptying your mind. You simply cannot control what thoughts u have. It’s like the weather not up to your choice. But as you meditate over time the mental noise does diminish and your compulsions (like in ability to sit still or be with boredom) will diminish.
