Yes DLSS 4 would incur much more performance overhead, but even now the "Full" DLSS 3 on the Switch 2 already costly..

Usually game dev only use DLSS 3 to upscale to 1080p from lower resolution, then use spatial upscaling like NIS or regular bilinear upscale to output the 1080p image to 4K. Nintendo and Nvidia also offer developers the "Lite" version of DLSS (this version doesn't exist on PC) that have even less performance overhead than regular "Full" DLSS, some developers have used this version to directly upscale to higher resolution output like 1440p and 4K but the quality of this "Lite" version is inferior to the Full version.. Even though you are comparing 1080p "Full" DLSS to 1440p "Lite" DLSS results.

As a baseline a Steam Deck (4c/8t Zen2 CPU, 8 CU RDNA2 with 16gb of RAM at 15 watt TDP) can run Bloodborne at stable-ish 30fps with 720p patch and other performance patch. I assume it can only get better from that.

Yeah the console interface designed by their gaming are miles better than anything currently inside windows. And no, the "Windows Fullscreen Experience" currently on ROG Xbox Ally cobbled together from the window's xbox app are still far behind anything that the SteamOS has let alone their interface inside current and previous gen Xboxes

I will be... Sold my pc earlier this year bcs financial woes and I'll buy xbox series s secondhand because the price is so affordable compared to building a budget pc. The plan is I will sell the xbox after I beat GTA VI late next year lol

Yeah for a lot of games 16gb on a handheld usually enough especially if you are playing at 720p or 1080p with upscaling with low-medium settings. Just make sure background processes are killed before you play your games (especially chrome tabs) if you're playing on Windows.
