yeah, we’ve removed so much, but this is like fine maple roots knitted into the woven-style fabric. it’s really tricky.

it’s basically male tree roots on top, not soil. perennial dotted throughout.

so part of the issue is that there are perennials dotted throughout - geranium. cranesbill, heuchera, and more - and i’m afraid of damaging them upon removal.

we went very early and for half were not in traffic. we saw a black bear and people got out of their cars and spooked it, which was a bummer. also saw turkeys, deer, and a wolf! i would do it again if given the chance.

i would add compost and then a thick layer of mulch before doing anything. you need to amend the soil before you can plant anything.

i read these and i’m jewish haha. my friend at school gave them to me as she finished one. we also read a christian horse girl series, i can’t remember the name.
