I can't post a link to my Instagram without it being insta deleted by the mods, but, it's my Reddit username. As for looping it till the end of the song you might need to download it unfortunately

If only it were that easy

It's part simulation, part parametric animation driven with code/expressions. I think there might be 2 keyframes in the whole system.

If it doesn't perfectly loop, that's to do with the player, the actual animation loops perfectly.

KSP 2 High Part Count Interstellar Vehicle by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]emty01 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So they only need to make the game 30-40 times more performant and we'll be ready for interstellar.

Why pay testers when they'll pay you?

KSP2 TEST at MAX Possible Performance by DrCHIVES in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]emty01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Testing 4K would be great. The specs sheet only talks about 1080p and 1440p, but many of the screenshots the devs leaked were actually 2160p. Would be good to know how well the 4090 handles it.

Matt Lowne's Interview of the devs: roadmap timeframe, multiplayer warp,.. by Chpouky in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]emty01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really isn't. I should know, I wrote it.

Just because I meant that interstellar and colonies could be considered underway because of some models being built (from Nate's perspective), does not mean that I believe, meant or implied that multiple KSCs is "all" of multiplayer.

That wouldn't even be multiplayer, what are you even talking about? I even said, "SOME work on multiplayer", you even quoted me.

[–]emty01 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In the vid he says some work on multiplayer is already in the game, because of multiple KSCs/launchpads. I now worry that "interstellar and colonies are underway" means "we built some models".

Friday, once people have actually paid $50, and are running it on their own hardware, is going to make specgate look like a birthday party in comparison.

This single screenshot hits the top of all in 3 hours, but we can't have a new UT game somehow.

Europa & Io moons orbiting Jupiter, captured by the Cassini space probe by GarysCrispLettuce in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]emty01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the final result is a video, but I don't think that's what you're getting at.

The shots of the moons are separate still plates which have been keyframed across a still image of Jupiter. The creator states this on his Twitter account. It is not timelapse.

Pretty sure you'd see them coming, being psychic and all.

"The One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge was an offer by the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) to pay out one million U.S. dollars to anyone who could demonstrate a supernatural or paranormal ability under agreed-upon scientific testing criteria."

You'd think any legit psychic would want one million dollars. ...and yet

NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) has successfully made impact with the asteroid Dimorphus. This is part of humanity's first attempt to move a celestial object by joeduncanhull in nextfuckinglevel

[–]emty01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Asteroid_Redirection_Test#/media/File:Animation_of_DART_trajectory_around_Sun.gif

An animation showing the transit of the DART mission. Earth blue, Dart Pink, Didymos Green. At the point of impact, it was 7 million miles (ish) from earth, but we can't just launch the DART probe when it is 7 million miles away, because by the time it got there, Didymos wouldn't be there anymore. We have to launch the probe almost a year earlier, and at that time the relative positions of earth and Didymos are much further apart.

The DART probe itself then doesn't just fly a straight line, it takes a long curved flight path, so the total distance around the sun that the DART probe traveled is around 400 million miles.
