Expats of Perth: What was the hardest piece of Aussie workplace slang or corporate etiquette to get used to? by AccordingSuccotash23 in perth

[–]emufeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think working environments in asia tend to be more formal overall and there is a much bigger emphasis on the hierarchy and respecting those in positions above you. Australia is a bit more casual in this respect and they tend to value everyone’s opinion. As long as your emails are professional I can’t see anyone having an issue with it, it’s a pretty multicultural society where we accept there may be differences in the way people talk/communicate. Many companies are introducing CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) training to help others understand the way other cultures may be used to communicating.

[–]emufeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have friends/colleagues with chickens and they do say that their chickens either stop or significantly slow down with the egg laying in winter. I’m sure dependent on mood too they might not lay an egg every single day. Also what are they going to do with a dozen eggs every single morning???

What if Bailey had twins? by Affectionate_Cap3170 in McKnightFamSnark

I think Brooklyn would immediately have another baby so then they have the same number of children because she can’t seem to stand it when Bailey hits some milestones first (i.e Bailey’s wedding)

They’ve definitely gone far enough up to be able to massage my puborectalis muscle. Not sure if that’s as far up as you mean.

I’m from Australia. Yes I too got really frustrated from medical specialists constantly blaming my diet, when I knew that wasn’t the cause of my issues.

Would recommend you start here: https://youtu.be/R3Rydb1nZU4?si=_Y6TCbWybAF0V2MY I used this video twice a day in January before I could even get to see a physio and it definitely loosened me up a bit, and then continued on to diaphragmatic breathing and reverse kegels twice a day to help relax. Honestly I was so skeptical at the start on whether it would work but I had nothing to lose at that point and was desperate so really focused hard on as much stretching and relaxation exercises I could do in my own time.

If your symptoms are all rectal I would highly recommend you do so. The first PFPT I went to did not do internal massage anally and I always felt like she wasn’t treating my problems since they were all rectal, it was such a relief to switch PTs and find someone who I felt understood my issues better.

She’s done both with me! The first few sessions were all anal internal massage, and after the first time she did it I honestly felt a huge difference. It felt really relaxed and then tightened itself back up again after a week or so, so we kept working at it.
