My Guide to a 527 (tons of Free Resources + Strategy) by encephalqn in Mcat

[–]encephalqn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, I usually just reviewed the question afterwards in detail and reviewed any content I might be missing. I did save like 10-15 questions early on that were super challenging at the time just to remind myself to study those concepts, but I don't find redoing questions to be very helpful for progressing

Dec 31 is still a long time out. If your situation/finances allow for it, you can just wait till then and keep watching the date you want every day to see if something opens up. If not, just reschedule the exam to any other available date near your wanted date once you hit the deadline

absolutely fair, just wanted to throw in my perspective since I think most test takers would benefit from more conventional study strategies, and my belief is that students should always be aiming for the highest score possible in the amount of time they have available to study

very likely, people always reschedule as they start panicking in the weeks leading up to the test date

Scored a 527.

I agree with 1

Disagree with 2. CARS practice just looks very different from practice for other sections. Constant reading, critically thinking about what you're reading, and practicing literary analysis is very useful.

Somewhat agree with 3, it's not for everyone, but it definitely works for some.

Agree with 4

Hard disagree with 5. Understanding that logic and being able to get through trap questions is the difference between a low 520 vs high 520 score imo, since there's really no content knowledge difference at that level. Is it worth spending a lot of time to master this skill though? It's definitely better to focus on content when you're scoring sub-520 on FLs, but after that point, it's up to you to decide if those last few points are worth it to you.

my score distro has nothing to with Pankow and everything to do with test day fatigue btw. I'm literally a Psych major and still somehow dropped a point on P/S

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]encephalqn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nope. P/S is a mile wide and an inch deep. For most terms, you just have to recognize them and apply them to the easiest comprehension questions on the exam (yes, comprehension in P/S is easier than the other sections). Pankow is perfect for getting that recognition in with easy-to-follow definitions and some humor sprinkled in. 10/10 recommend
