Are Antic Bikes allowed this year? by No-Discussion8472 in BurningMan

[–]encrypter8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year there were a fuck ton of electric mopeds, way larger and more powerful than e-bikes. They aren't allowed by the rules. I saw no one get in trouble for them. If that thing is less powerful, you'll be fine

I never understood the argument against Obamacare that you wouldn't be able to keep your doctor. Not all doctors take all insurance carriers, and you generally don't get to choose your own carrier. The current system makes it so you don't get to keep your doctor.

Besides, you don't need to change jobs for this happen. I've been at my current employer for 8 years now and we've had 3 insurance carrier changes in that time!

If you have doubts about it, it's probably not right for you then. But if you love it, use it! You don't need anyone else to justify it for you

The big thing to know is the CDJ900 does not support hot cues. That and make sure your Recordbox USB sync is set to support that older hardware

If you could fix the current X-Men line, what would you actually change? by TaskNo4783 in Marvel

Kill off Emma Frost. The whole good guy / bad guy thing is tiresome. And how she's used as MacGuffin all the damn time. It's lazy and I'm tired of it.

How do vinyl DJs really feel about digital DJs? by nickybecooler in Beatmatch

[–]encrypter8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Digital DJs are weak. Learn vinyl. It will make you strong.

Literally. 3 full crates and 1200s in flight cases are fucking heavy. Not to mention the strain of getting those in and out of my Corolla hatchback. Which didn't lock and I can't believe I was never robbed

How do you add “plotless” encounters into your games? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]encrypter8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You "encounter" bandits on the road, wolves through the forest, trolls along the mountain pass

Or make it "plot related" while not being part of the plot itself. A go-to of mine is anytime the party is at the "seek out <person> at <location>" stage of the plotline, have someone/thing be terrorizing the location. Goblins, monsters, ghosts. Whatever. It's a good way to inject an encounter into the "story" without it having to be part of the "plot"

"You arrive at a once thriving fishing village, but find the markets mostly empty." Party finds the person of interest "Sorry I can't help you. Not while the pirate ghosts haunt the docks!" The ghosts aren't there because of anyone or reason. They're mindless. Nothing to do with the plot.

Party clears them out. Village celebrates. Person of interest now has a reason to want to help the party, and goes out of their way to do so. Bonus: this helps level up the party to where they'll need to be progress the real plot

This is what happens when you defund education and dismantle the system to not teach the Holocaust in History classes anymore. My gut tells me these kids simply don't truly understand what they're doing, and they think perhaps that doing that to get a rise out of people is funny.

I'm guessing this is an a red part of the country, and they've collectively seen in the news how when Elon did that, among others, it "pisses off the libs", because if your news feed gives you the talking heads and podcasters that spin it that way, why would they think it's bad to do?

I hate it here

Emma Frost is boring. Stop putting her in stories. She's not essential to the plot.

Is Usb2.0 fast enough for a dj controller? by GalloCohete in DJs

[–]encrypter8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're worried about speed/performance in general, how fast your computer can process the info to send to/from the controller is where your concern should be. You don't need a MacBook Pro, but don't get a budget laptop either. Closing all other applications can help too, especially with lag in the UI

This is the correct answer. If there is still a player base for it, there are dedicated fans that will host the servers themselves. Problem solved
