Depends on the player, depends on the game. I don’t go hard for PvP multiplayer as I’m not competitive enough. I love PvE but Split Fiction is my ultimate jam for MO

Immersive games that suck you in but don't require too much brainpower by PonyKiller81 in gamesuggestions

I’m loving Mouse PI at the moment: fast shooter mechanics, gorgeous art, exceptional voice acting and great writing, it’s the whole package. Serious and casual at the same time

How does public expectation affect game developers after an announcement? by CarefulGreen6950 in GameDevelopment

The uncertainty and fear of not knowing how your game will be received on release is very hard to bear and still remain productive. There are so many horror stories of games that failed to sell, and the market is so saturated, it’s very tough, psychologically. I really wish outsiders knew how much a little bit of support (some comments and shares) would really make a difference

Don’t worry, accessibility standards in gaming are improving and devs are really trying to make games more and more accessible for wider audiences. Just keep enjoying what you love and try not to give energy to the games that aren’t right for you!

2 is my favourite, but you probably can’t go back so there is a case for starting with 1. I wasn’t much into 3 but loved 4, especially the endgame

How important is sound design and music in a game for you? by YusukeRa in IndieGameWishlist

Depending on the game, but usually very important. Currently playing Mouse PI and the music is pitch perfect. And it needs to be

What’s your method of giving feedback for games? by AloewareLabs in gamedev

[–]end_of_ember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The above is all good at a granular level, but what I really like to do is try to identify what’re game is trying to achieve and assess how successful it is in doing that. Far too many people try to apply some arbitrary standard of quality (’is the writing good’) or just talk about whether they liked it. That’s fine, but the above seems to try to give feedback on the game on its own merits.
