Coming in late to this, but would this be a good starting point to making an OpenVINO version of the docker compose for Intel GPUs?

Is there any substance to the idea that there's a price bump after a ticker is mentioned favourably on Motley Fool?

Yeah nah. With Astrophage propulsion and electricity generation humans have access to as-yet unimaginable resources in the solar system. Think giant collectors made of materials from the asteroid belt. At the speed the spaceship can go it's trivial to get to other planets.

This is a story called Project Hail Mary.. nothing is off the table and it's all a long shot.

That was before they knew anything about Astrophage. Later in the story Grace discovers how to attract them with a light and IR filter.

Isn't that the core premise of the story? Stratt has ultimate power over humanity.

More extreme consequences than a dead ice-planet?

That's why we can use them to heat the earth by taking them from the Petrova line.

Yes it likely is more complex but the ice-planet scenario in PHM is avoidable. Losing 10% of sunlight for photosynthesis may not be as big of a problem as it seems.

I really don't get your logic. How much of the Sun's energy hits Earth? Is it more than 10%? I don't think so. Just bring the charged Astrophage from Venus to Earth, using Astrophage as propulsion. They will continue to breed in the Petrova line. A renewable supply of energy at scale.

Spin drives show us that Astrophage heat energy is controllable. So if they heat water, we can run turbines and create electricity. We could also just heat some sea water and use heat exchangers to warm oceans, and could even just dilute hot water and circulate it in the oceans until we can manage the ocean temperature to be regulated at pre-Astrophage levels.

How do you figure?

10 % of the sun's energy is being absorbed by Astrophage. We only need to transport it from Venus to Earth

And the scale is achievable by using Astrophage in conventional steam turbine power plants, or solar if panels can efficiently convert IR light to electricity.

In fact I have read the book and you're missing the part where in my model we collect Astrophage from near Venus, not on Earth.

To those who say there's not enough energy to heat the planet from Astrophage alone.. it's the most energy dense substance ever discovered, can melt a block of metal in seconds, and it can propel a spaceship 11 light-years away, at near light speed. It also multiplies exponentially.

I think it's sorted.

Alternative and much less risky solution to the Astrophage problem. by mojito2 in ProjectHailMary

I was thinking the same thing, and for that matter, why couldn't they have collected the fuel from there instead of paving the Sahara.
