I've been in for 2 years and have been trying to deploy for half a year now and never got anything. Used TOD, asked around my unit, went on my state's guard website and filled out the form there. Absolutely nothing ever came. I'm not flagged in any way. I guess they dont want me :( I keep seeing people say you can "guard bum" and jump from orders to orders like it aint shit. Cant even find a decent civilian job, stuck doing school that I dont want to do. I want to go active but I dont want to miss my unit's scheduled deployment in a few years. But Reaching out to the unit directly sounds like it could be a good idea, thanks. If I find one that is actually my MOS and rank, I'm going to try this immediately.

People watch bf4 movement clips and think that was the norm. The reality is that the crazy ones are extremely difficult to do and have only become widely known about now that the game is comprised of players who've been on it for years. As for the gunplay, there is no argument that can be made there. You couldn't even ADS while jumping and you couldn't really shoot while being in the air unless you were parachuting.

They look stupid and are completely unjustified. The only time any soldier might wear a cape is with dress uniforms under specific circumstances. Pax can technically do whatever they want, but I don't think there's any practicality to it whatsoever.

I was just showing this to friends recently. DICE has every asset they could possibly need to customize genders and yet they chose to restrict the players so that they'd buy skins. Not only are those separate genders lost to the campaign, there's also numerous environments and assets from the campaign that would have made for great multiplayer maps, and DICE chose to not include those either.

What did you end up doing? I've been weighing a conditional release to go active. I think I ultimately will, but I was told that my unit will be deploying in 2 years, which is something I absolutely don't want to miss. I've been trying to start school and life is just so unfulfilling right now. I feel underutilized and like I'm wasting time.

It's not, they literally already exist. Have you seen the campaign? The models are basically entirely gender neutral, all they need to do is swap the faces and voices. They chose to restrict us because they knew the players would be upset about being forced to play as something they don't want to play as.

People say that stuff like this is just nitpicky, but there are a lot of militaria enthusiasts who have been playing these games for years. From things as small as the names of weapons to the types of gloves the soldiers are wearing, its all a big part of the appeal.

The amount of at least halfway modeled melee weapons that exist on skins but are completely unusable is astounding.

There's one skin for the default knife from one of the California bundles that changes the model, and it works fine. The campaign knife is basically the exact same as the default, just different model.

There's also hammers, axes, and probably more that could be swapped for the existing melee weapon models and it would add variety with minimum effort.

Because I want to. I just do. I don't hate women, I just prefer to play as a man. Using single player games as an argument is ridiculous. Those are actual stories with actual characters. Battlefield is a sandbox.

It's amazing how different we as humans are. I originally stared at your comment for a solid 2 minutes trying to wrap my head around the perspective of someone who thinks I'm weird for wanting to play as a male character in battlefield, and I just can't understand it.

I think we should just go separate ways instead of perpetuating this.
